IHJ-140-IG - 19oz Selvedge Denim Type I Jacket - Indigo/Grey
-
@Alex - thanks. I was clearly having a moment when I asked the question.
-
@Alex
when there is a cinch on the type 1 there is no need for one on the type 2
please ….. -
@Daniel-San I don’t follow that logic…
-
@Alex
would love the new Type 2 without a cinch , like IHJ-71 and 72 . So happy I own the epic 72 🥳 -
@Alex Please also think of the people who often have to carry a backpack or a shoulder bag. For them, a cinch back really sucks because you keep getting stuck on it. Maybe this logic makes sense to you

I’m for the cinch. Looks cool and allows you to adjust the fit. Is also removable anyway?

They're riveted in so you need to just cut it off if you don't want it.
I'd prefer no cinch but understand some people liking it & including one since the original T1s had it. But i don't get adding one to the Type II since it didn't have one originally, and thought the original Type IIs IH made with a cinch didn't sell

Me too, especially on this T1. Allows more fades to occur too, friggin' cinch fades for days, dudes.

I totally agree. But well, in the end it's not our/my decision and there's no obligation to buy. ️ So all good for me. I'm curious when the jackets will be released and what they will look like.

I find a cinch in the back of a jacket or vest is a major hindrance when one sits in furniture with a soft/cushioned backrest, such as a sofa or chairs with padded backrests. I’ve embarrassed myself more than once as my buckle cinch caught and ripped or scratched such a backrest as I sat down at someones home. I has also happened as I sat in a car seat.
I think it is functionally problematic guys. -
Personally, I’ve never had the cinch on my pants or jackets mark furniture. My MF ranch blouse and Wabby IH vest has not either but after Motojobo’s recent post, did notice exposed rivets reinforcing this cinch. While I do very much prefer the heritage look (and again have never had these cinch rivets to do damage like an exposed rear pocket rivet) hidden rivets may be the way to go.
