Viberg

@EdH:
Forum members with UK size 10 or 11 feet may be interested in this Viberg sample sale:
https://www.marrkt.com/collections/viberg-sale-may-2022
(Marrkt is a second hand and surplus stock retailer in the UK. I've bought both used and new items from them in the past. These boots are apparently all former display samples - hence all the same size - so wear should be try-on only, if any.)
Wish I had seen this back in May. If you get info on another sample sale please share!
Anyone know if there’s still a way to convince someone at Viberg to accept an MTO order?

Having some renovation work done on the house. Not a single thing I own is not covered in a layer of dust. Spent the afternoon cleaning off the Viberg collection.

I have the SOP AG side zip Vibergs and I'm pretty sure it's on a 2030.
I wear a 13 in most sneakers and followed my usual rule of thumb for Red Wing / Lofgrens etc got a 12 — they fit but are snug, no thick socks for me. But I will say that my feet are on the bigger end of 13 — I frequently run into the problem of some 13s being too short, and I have to buy a 14 if I buy something like running shoes that need a real proper fit.
you sound like youre in the same boat as me, my first pair of vibergs i ordered 13's, and they are a bit to big. but i can live.
my second pair are 12.5's and they are bang on.
of course those were both ordered back when you could still order custom boots -
@natehate Your cobbler looks to have done a really good with your boots. Always a nervous wait while your quality hand made boots are shipped off for the equivalent of open heart surgery. Glad it worked out well for you.

Had the good fortune of being able to make it to the sample sale here in Victoria today! Lots of offerings, not much service boot wise and in my sizing (10.5-11) there was a bit more limited selection. No crazy lines on the first day and no drama either. I managed to pick up a cool pair of Engineer Boots and a couple Chelsea’s. Really wanted some Service Boots but nothing in my size. The Engineer Boot has a couple dings, nothing noteworthy otherwise and I’m not planning on babying them either. Both the Chelsea’s are as new.
Can someone identify the leather in the black Chelsea’s and the Engineer boots? The young staff weren’t certain and I’ve struggled to find answers online, especially for the Chelsea’s. I think they are Black Calf? If so, they are a lot more wrinkled and loose looking leather than the photos online! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Engineers look like horse, almost like shell from the smooth inside, and the black look more like a deer or something softer than calf although hard to say. Great scores.
-
@Nik Thanks! Very happy with my pickups. I’m really curious about the black Chelsea’s, can’t find anything about them online. They are very soft, so the deer theory makes sense. I did find an article mentioning the Engineer boots leather as “Horween Workshoe Butt”.

Looking at the grain, I'd say the black pair could be goat.
Nice trio of boots! -
@Mizmazzle Boots just arrived. Love all about them! Figuring out if the size is right. If anything I might have gotten away with half a size smaller, but I think they will work. Have a very wide foot, and touching sides nice and easy. There is a lot of wiggle room up and down with the toes, but that comes with the construction of the toe box. Only very slight heel slip when walking. Will post some better pictures later.
Ah.. and my wife will figure out that I have new boots just weeks after the Lofgren Donkey Puncher

@Tobi love how they look under that wider hem! Is that a 634 cut?
Def lots of up and down toe room for me as well. Also a bit of room in length, but not overly either. My heel sits in place nicely, but not crammed either. Have a bit of room in a very comfortable way. Overall, I have a bit of room in all areas, but somehow still very comfortable. I feel like this is how the last is designed. I’ve wondered if I could have gone a 1/2 size down myself, but now I think it fits how it’s supposed to. The ball of my foot is resting right on the up curve of he sole. They feel amazing. After a couple days walking in then I’m confident mine are sized properly. -
@Mizmazzle Good to hear, also confident the size will work! Yep, these are IH-634-XHS, but I think they will look better in less wide and more black jeans. Will try them with the IH-666S-SB next. Finally boots that do not get indigo marks from just looking at them! Wore my new IH-634-XHSib with the rough-out Donkey Punchers for only 10min and have serious indigo all over the place... Thanks for the inspiration and feedback!

I absolutely love my 310 Vibergs. I too have. Wide foot and to boot (pun intended) I have a bunch of foot issues that require me to wear orthotics.
I had a hell of a time finding a pair of boot that fit until I landed on these. They are my go to.
I’ll add, if you’re looking for shoes that mimics the 310last, Viberg make these 145 Oxfords. Basically the same last in a shoe. Sorry I don’t have a better picture of just the shoe.
-
@Brandrea both pairs real beauties. On the boot I was a bit worried that they angle up so much that they go into "clown shoes" territory, but all good! If the last and size works for me, I will eventually get also one in a light brown smooth leather.. but for now taking a break from buying boots

@Tobi Ha ha, I know what you mean about the toe up …
It’s much less pronounced when you actually wear them.I’ve received a number of compliments wearing them mostly from women who tend to notice footwear more than my guy friends lol
