RE: IRON HEART WAYWT - 2024 EDITION
There really are so many great shots here. So great to see various ways to wear all of this great clothing.
In all honesty, I came to this brand very late in life. I was searching for a new look so to speak. I was tired of the boring mall denim, chinos, sweater/shirts look. A “new look” wasn’t really as contrived as that, but you get my point … something age appropriate, slightly edgy, but I can also wear to work.
Somehow, I found a place called the Fedora Lounge as I was searching for a good leather jacket. Once there, the brand Iron Heart was mentioned … it’s been a rabbit hole ever since lol.
Love the ethos of the brand, the unique designs, and of course the quality, but beyond that, it fits me well. I tried so many Japanese brands, and I always had fit problems.
So glad I landed here!

Here’s what the vest looks like with a UHF. Sorry for the crappy pics.

RE: IH-634SBR-14 - 14oz Broken Twill Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
The eagle has landed!
I really like this denim. There is a beautiful depth of color and in my opinion, it’s actually quite soft right out of the gate. I think the break in time will be short.
Call me crazy, but another interesting thing I’ve noticed, is that they almost feel like they have a touch of stretch. I know they don’t, but I guess maybe it’s just the lighter material compared to the 21 oz I’ve been wearing lately.
Regardless, they are awesome, and I’m looking forward to wearing the heck out of them this summer.
Sorry about the pics, I’m not really set up to take professional” selfies lol.

RE: IHSH-332-SAX - Ultra Heavy Flannel Anniversary Check Western Shirt - Sax
I missed the boat on this shirt when it was released and I’ve been looking for one in my size ever since.
Late to the party, but I finally found one and even though I paid a premium, it is worth it to me. What a fantastic piece of work IH!

RE: Learning moments in my denim journey
As far as my denim in journey goes.
I’m very new to the world of selvedge denim and the like. I’d say for me, my mistake (if you can call it that) was to buy too much all at once instead of going a bit more slowly and enjoying each piece for what it is.
I have a bunch, and I mean a bunch of stuff I’ve barely even worn (some still have the tags on). I’m not sure why this is….
I think I need to learn how to find that happy medium between want and need. Inevitably, my right brain tells me I “need” everything lol.

RE: Holiday Traditions
Besides the regular Christmas stuff, we’ve had a tradition that goes back many years …
The first weekend of every December our favourite band 54-40 plays at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, and we make a weekend of it.
Here we are …

RE: Parenting
I love this thread, it sure brings back fond memories of those years!
I’ll call myself a veteran (I’m not really). We have two teenagers 16 and 18.
If you thought parenting infants was tough work, wait till their hit their teens :).
My advice is this … keep things simple, your time is the biggest and most important thing you can gift your children. Be kind, patient, and love them for who they are.
Last, have fun, joke and laugh. If you look carefully in the second photo, you’ll see how the kids and I love to spoil moms perfect family photos.

RE: Wonder Looper
@cbmyles I think you’re right.
I own the IH zip IHSW-11 and the arms and body is significantly trimmer. I’m an XXL in the IH and Large in the Wonderlooper (for your reference).

RE: Wonder Looper
@cbmyles I have the French Terry double heavy weight zip hoodie. It’s HEAVY feeling like a blanket, which I love. The Waldes zipper is a nice touch.
My only complaint, (really not a big one but sort of) is that the knit they used on the cuffs and hem don’t really match the heft of the rest of the garment, if that makes sense.
