IHJ-64-BLK - Horsehide Modified Type III Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)

Fit check, honest opinion. I went with XL because I was told (self edge) all jackets in stock measured 22.75 chest and my regular IH shirting size is smallest XL or largest Large with my sweet spot being 22.75. So I went XL because chest is my sweet spot. After it arrived today I am not sure if I should have sized down to a large? Large they have in stock is 22.25 (one half inch smaller)

Tough call and depends on how it feels on.
I'm some pictures it looks too big, especially the sleeves in the last pic (creasing will help pull them up a bit though) and then the waist at the hips also seems large in the second pic but looks snug in others. The shoulders to me look at the edge of being too large for how you're wearing it but would allow layering over a thick sweater. How is it in the chest and torso? The buttons do seem to be taking some tension. You might struggle sizing down if these are already snug.

To my eyes looks like you are swimming in it---size down for sure

Definitely size down

I have never been so eager to wait for the autumn/winter to come earlier as much I am now after receiving this amazing jacket.
The smell of this leather, the supple and plush hand feel and the quality of workmanship.. simply stunning..

@goosehd Thank you mate.. it's a perfect fit.. felt like it was MTO.. after spending many hours of checking and going through this superbly helpful thread and the measurements chart (and countless self measurements of my existing jackets ) I went with XL and it literally fits like a glove..
And now I totally understand why many of other brothers/sisters talk about the sleave length.. as for me it's perfect length to pair it with my motorbike. But even without that, for me it's on a right dimensions as I have just enough room to stretch my arms on a daily basis. The only place it made me a bit strange at first was on the Biceps but I take it as a motivation to go to gym again -
Question for the IH crew, why did you select chromium tanning for this specific item? Not at all a criticism; just trying to learn more about the leather tanning process and educating myself on tea-core dying.
-
This jacket is just made for you @twin
Any tea core to share yet?

I am considering this or IHJ-49 jacket.
I am wearing western UHFs in XL, work UHF i kind of feel between sizes, L is slightly too tight and XL feels too boxy.
Sateen M65 i wear in L and it fits amazingly, was thinking it's too restricting at the beginning but it looks great and feels just big enough.
N1 - I have L and it works fine, probably could choose XL for more wintery feel.I have had multiple aero jackets, best fitting was Long Half belt with 23'' P2P (but it was slightly too tight when layering for example IH hoodie)
Also had highwayman with 24.5 p2p - felt slightly too big, but it was actually comfortable thanks to that.Measuring my chest, relaxed, with t-shirt on it comes down to 42''
And I am 187cm tall.I have quite lengthy arms, never had too much issue with IH's sleeves so that I am not that scared off.
One thing that is concerning though, the sleeve opening on the IHJ-64 is very tight, I am worried it won't even fit my watch under itAny advices about sizing? I am thinking IHJ-64 in XXL could be good, but maybe should go for XL?

Rockin' the new J-64. And man, what a solid and cool jacket! I went with the XL, and am 5'9, 190 lbs, broader shoulders and chest but shorter arms. Always had difficulties finding the right fit in nice leather, but this one feels great. For you watch guys, I had my tailor remove the cuffs and hem a plain sleeve so I can wear my watches. The horsehide is as distinctive as advertised...And that glorious smell.

@Transporter Fits well on you.
-
Excellent fit right there @Transporter
A year into my 54 and the smell is still there. The UHFs I hang next to it in the wardrobe always take up a bit of it and if’s the best thing ever haha
-
@twin Thank you, sir. I probably could have gone up to the XXL to layer a bit more (like with UHF), but here in AZ just t-shirt, dress shirt or baselayer is enough. Finally a kick ass leather jacket that is marginally flattering. LOL
-
@Transporter Looks very nice on you! I'd be interested in seeing a close up of the sleeves after you had the cuffs removed.

@cityofdelusion @init616 Do these help? After removing the cuffs and tailoring the sleeve opening for a clean look and watch friendly, watches easy to wear and see. And I wear some big watches. 44mm Panerai or 43mm GS Tentagraph all good. I dig the tapered sleeve opening of this jacket, superb for you watch guys that hesitate with the long sleeves and tight cuff.
