IH-666S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

Just consider the stretch. The 21oz stretches quite a bit in the waist.
More than 1” of stretch? What about the thighs? That’s my biggest issue, beer belly and thick thighs lol
-
My personal experience with the 21oz is a good inch but some experienced even more. Can’t comment on the thighs in the 666 but wouldn’t expect too much stretch. My thighs are my issues as well but I have a very slim waist wherefore I need different cuts. The thighs on the 666 are to small compared to the waist.

Good to know. Thanks for the info!

Yes mine too… 1 to 1.5 inch in the waist. Thighs can be a problem with 666 and from my experience stretch there needs much more patience and wear time.

Just got mine in the mail. They are much softer and pleasant to wear right out of the package than my 21.5 oz Brave Stars.

am on the fence for the 666 then I found this on the internet..
now Im planning to add 666 on my rotation..

What a great resource this forum! The pictures really helped to decide a suitable fit (and weight) for my first pair of IH jeans. But… any idea when these will be restocked?

@thomms when I started here, I dove right in to the 666 cut. Still love them, but for me the 634 is the best cut.
-
@bertboschman They are due very soon
-
@AdamJ good news. Thanks!

@AlexO I also have the 21 oz bravestars and I do like them but It's amazing the difference between my 21oz IH and them.
-
@AdamJ Do you know whether it's before the end of the year?
-
@bertboschman we don't sorry. Should be this year.
-
Gave up the first go around. Let's try this again. Day #12

I'm wondering if you guys could help me out. I already emailed ironheart customer service but I'm waiting for a reply due to the time change and figured I would reach out to the forum and see what everyone else thought too. I'm looking at the 21 oz 666 because I feel like they're the closest to my favorite jeans after I measured them. But the problem is, I can't decide if I should size down because I know they're going to stretch out but then how much can I expect them to shrink after the first and second washes. I'm hoping someone with a little more experience can help me out. These are the measurements of a great fitting pair of jeans for me. These are only 14 oz jeans so I know that is a little different. I do have some 21 oz in another brand. I don't love the cut though.. it's not my first rodeo with sanforized denim, but is my first sanforized and once washed.
34.5 waist
8in leg opening
10.5 front rise
15ish back rise
12in thigh
8.75 knee
30 Inseam probably go 31 for shrinkageI'm pretty used to doing the trial and error thing, but this is a pretty expensive hobby to be messing around too much. I appreciate any input
Edit;
I usually wear for about 3 months before a first wash then every 2-3 months after for a 1 wash. If it's just sanforized, I do an initial hot soak. -
@worsethanyou I'll chime in. The measurements you posted seem to put you in a size 34 almost exactly and with that said, I would not suggest sizing down.
I'm sure some people have sized down in the 666 cut with success but what we have seen is that most people find theres too little room in the top block of the 666 cut if you size down.
The 21oz denim is forgiving so you'll get some stretch but they aren't going to stretch a crazy amount like some denim does and as far as shrinkage, it's not a ton. I'd say potentially some shrinkage back closer to original waist measurement but then they'll stretch right back with ease. As long as you're doing cold wash/air dry that is.
Hopefully that helps.
