Love the styling on this jacket.
Would you guys ever consider making one with a lighter lining for warmer climates?
Would love to wear this in LA in the winter.I wholeheartedly support this. A2 sans lining would be useful for my Socal climate.

Well, it arrived at work today and it’s really nice (although it looks kinda ridiculous over suit trousers). Will have to wait for the weekend to see how it fits over IH gear but I think sizing down was probably the right decision so long as the body length is ok. Can update next time I’m at home.
Overall the serge outer and wool lining feels less bulky and offers better mobility than the whipcord/alpaca combo of my N1, so this could be a really useful addition to my winter wardrobe.
-
@ARNC do you think that difference between serge vs whipcord on the A2 and N1 (serge being lighter and malleable) also translates on the two A2 versions? I have a couple of IH whipcord shirts that I love, but no experience with these jackets and I’m considering the pros and cons of each fabric.
-
@CPA hard to say without a direct comparison but I guess it will mostly be down to the lining (as I have no trouble walking in my 720 whipcord pants). The N1 lining is quite bulky (in a good way). In terms of which A2, I preferred the serge colour and it was more different to other stuff I have.

@ARNC indeed, I see what you rnean. Thank you
-
@ARNC i'd say looks great with either a shirt or just a tee
-
Is A2 significantly less warm than non-oiled N1?
I have N1 but the sizing isn't perfect for me - I love the warmth though! A2 dimensions seem closer to what would work but my only worry is that it will be noticeably less warm (alpaca neck missing is also a worry :)) -

honest opinions
IMO perfect. I would/will buy it sizing the same. Think it's a good addition to the N1. While the latter with its warm collar and wider measures is more for layering on really cold days, this one just with a tee or a light shirt for cool spring/autumn days. Excellent choice @ARNC

Thanks @Fades-for-future @T4920 @Twistlock @endo @goosehd - always good to have confirmation when trying something new.

Nailed the fit @ARNC

Just arrived... Love it!
Sized down from XXL in Flannels to XL.. still a lot of room for layers.
-
@Tobi looks like this should work well for you if you’re planning on layering under it and it really is a fantastic jacket (spent far too long looking at mine hung over a chair last night )
I think there’s a bit of a trade off between length and width on this one and we all have different preferences/intentions. I think we jumped in different directions but both got a good result.

@ARNC and @tody I see now what you guys mean.. The arms are seriously wide (high up), never had this issue with an IH top. Oh well, I could go down even further to L (I am normally XXL in IH Flannels, although sometimes a XL would work), but then the length would be borderline too short.. and not much space for thicker layers. Hate sending back stuff (avoided it so far with IH), so not sure what to do...
