IHM-39-OLV - Military Serge A2 Deck Jacket - Olive
-
@Tobi I get the impression you’re generally more tolerant of looser fits than I am. Sleeve volume and excess material around my lower body were a big factor in my sizing down – for me the difference in length between the two sizes was less significant. If you’re more sensitive to length, maybe keep it.
I suspect the arms will settle down a bit and I’m not sure how many layers you’re wearing in the pics, but with thicker layers underneath I think you’re good (maybe not with just a tee). The arm opening seems to be cut a bit lower/wider than in other IH tops, and I think that’s a bit factor in the upper arm volume.
Sorry if I’ve gone on too long – hope this helps you and maybe others debating sizing (this was definitely the hardest time I’ve had making sense of the numbers).

Thanks - will think it over today. The sleeve length is not a problem for me, but more the width/volume of the arm. I guess this is close to the military original cuts, seen this otherwise only on authentic M65 Jackets...

Keeping the XL

@Twistlock This jacket is one of those times I'm glad that there isn't one close by for me to try on...I know what I would do, and I just bought the waxed N1 in the fall.

I keep coming back looking at this one.

@Twistlock @endo you really don’t want to see/try this! Unless the sizing’s a disaster, you’ll need ridiculous levels of willpower to resist.
-
I can confirm the Jacket is hard to resist, but sizing is tricky... best for guys with short upper body but long arms and huge biceps

I bit the bullit and bought this jacket and it is one of the best decisions i have made.

Is the lining in the sleeves wool like the rest of the jacket or lined satin like in the N1..
-
@Rick62 wool like the rest of the jacket. Full description in first post.
-
@IrishHeart Thanks! I have read the full description, but it also says that the lining makes the jacket easy to take off and put on and that is usually stated if it has a satin lining. This and the lack of a photo of the inside sleeve left my curiosity unsatisfied.

@Rick62 understood. Always worth double checking when making a big investment in any item of clothing. It looks a great jacket so hope it meets your expectations.
