IH-888SBR-14 - 14oz Broken Twill Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut
-
I got them right at release back in May, @AdamJ . Been wearing them a lot this summer!
Thanks, @jordanscollected I have tried all the cuts at this point, and 888 is def the best. The broken twill sure didn’t disappoint—and I’ve always loved the soft hand of the stuff. Seriously, if Iron Heart made a 21 oz or above version, I would move heaven and earth to get multiple pairs.

Hey folks. I wonder if any of you can help me with sizing? I've only owned one other pair of IH. Several years ago.
a 35" waist measurement is what I need. So, IH only has size 35 left. Which they list at 34.9". But I notice a few of you mention that they will shrink a tad with a wash and tumble dry. I usually will give my jeans a hot soak to start. Let them air dry ~50% of the way. And then tumble dry on low. And this usually gets all the remaining shrinkage out (without marring up the indigo).
So, should I be shooting for a size 36? SelfEdge has size 36 available. Which they list with a waist measurement of 35.5". Should I anticipate about a .5" shrink after a tumble dry?
I'd appreciate any responses. I'd like to get thoughts on how I should size on this specific product.
Thank you!

The waist should stretch back to pre-soak/wash and dry measurements once you’ve worn them for a while. Also, depending on what cut of IH you’ve tried previously, the waist on the 888 may hit you higher because of the rise, which would call for the smaller waist.
I would say the 35 would probably be the better fit for you, but it also depends on what your ideal thigh measurement is.

Quick question. Was the double twisted weft yarn process incorporated into the broken twill? Can that even be done?
-
@Ridgemont that's a good question, I will ask.
-
confrimed that it is still the double twisted yarn, @Ridgemont
-
@Alex thanks for checking. That IH denim construction was appealing to me when I purchased my first pair of 21oz. It separated IH from other brands when I was scouring the internet. Perhaps adding that broken twill technical detail to the details section of the page would help the marketing? Just a thought.
-
@Ridgemont yeah, we added it to the pages after you posed the question.

This thing is amazing. Glad I snagged a pair from another site because IH didn’t have any 30s left. Highly recommended. Similar to the regular142s denim, but slightly coarser and drier feeling.
Awesome stuff, as usual.

@Chaintitch Alex is on holibobs at the moment, but as far as I'm aware they was seasonal/one off product, so I don't think there is any plans for a restock/a return however never say never, but no immediate plans, Im sure Alex will correct me if I am wrong when he is back or when he see's your message.
-
Josh is pretty much right, @Chaintitch . These were designed as a one of run, and as we keep talking about our production is extremely limited at the moment so it's really hard to keep running every denim we like constantly. I suspect this will not end up being a one-and-done, but there are no immediate plans to rerun this fabric.

Given both their popularity and production realities, this was the response I was anticipating...
But we need that broken twill Type III, Mister Padmore!
-
Not trying to rub it in, but bummer about these being limited. Snagged a pair from Self Edge recently, love em. Just different enough from the 142s to matter. A slightly milder blue, slightly rougher hand feel. Super comfy. Who knows, maybe I’ll buy a back up pair from SE if these ain’t happening again because they’re really great.
They have 28-32 and 38-42 in stock.
-
We've got a few pair in stock.
-
Yeah these make a great first impression. Only a few wears in, but ultra comfy, keep their shape, and they have a slightly more vibrant blue color and rougher hand feel than the 142s.
This close to buying a back up pair from Self Edge, given their limited release…..
