@jiminstitches the jackets were supplied by Aero & Eastman, so no surprise on how good they look. I think anyone expecting BOB etc may be a little disappointed. I’m in it for the aviation history, the details in the cockpit scenes are fascinating and the actual aerial bombardments from flak and small aircrafts look terrifying.
-
@IH-GARY - agreed. Although I have a general good-natured antipathy towards the ‘air component’ (having been in the Army for 20 years), I wanted to dislike this. However, I thought it was really good and the jackets were pretty damn impressive. I will definitely be watching the rest of the series although I fully expect that it will tail off like Band of Brothers and The Pacific did. Here’s hoping that it doesn’t.

@Mizmazzle your Floyd post reminded me of this one - at a certain point they discuss making the cover art for that one as well as a bunch of other awesome albums

The Twins Experiment on Netflix was good. I think it was called You Are What You Eat.
I see they have another cult documentary series so keen to watch that one too.

@Oaktavia what kind of jams?
On that note, the soundtrack of the new True Detective has been fucking excellent so far. The show overall’s pretty rad too.
@mclaincausey I enjoyed the twin thing as well, pretty interesting. I want one of those body scans.

@popvulture the soundtrack to Hazbin Hotel, if you watch the show you'll see. Lots of songs about the story, some of which are about love and are sappy, but at the same time raunchy and super vulgar, even pornographic. The main character is called Charlie Morningstar and is the Princess of Hell, daughter of Lucifer.
I have been enjoying the new True Detective too, super entertaining.

@Oaktavia haha alright, curiosity definitely piqued!

already controversial with the Satanic Panic crowd.
Hahahaha sign me up even more
-
@popvulture yeah I’m getting one and some tests I read about in Outlive that are not (but should be) part of our preventative protocols. Meaning I’ll have to pay out of pocket.
The scans seem to be we’ll under $100
-
@mclaincausey that’s good to know — I figured they’d be out of pocket, but also thought they’d cost a lot more since they’re sort of a lite CT scan.
-
@popvulture as far as that goes, and I’ll shut up on this topic to keep the thread integrity, a CT angiogram is a few hundred dollars but I’m tempted to do that to understand my coronary arteries better. Calcium scoring is really cheap but not quite as good. Dexa isn’t a helical scanner with a gigantic rotating gantry so it’s far less expensive equipment and presumable operation as well
Both of those are on our radar @Matt .

My wife and I started Criminal Record the other night. Only seen 2 episodes but really enjoying it.
