@Giles 16oz slubby would be a good shout.
@EdH tempted by this? I certainly am - didn’t know these existed and the thought of adding both a new cut and new denim to my wardrobe is making me seriously dig this. Not sure if you’re UK but it’s £81 for shipping to UK. My only concern is whether they have a thigh measurement more towards the 14” mark. To be continued….

Hopefully this positive response grants the 1955 a seat at the table more often/consistently going forward!
I was musing what denims we could more 1955's with last night
My thoughts...
- XHS
- 18oz vintage
- 17oz natty
While, my personal bias will always have me favoring the XHS, I realize the 18oz is likely the most fitting choice...
-
@long_john86 tempted, but the international shipping and taxes makes it harder to justify. I’ll just wait until IH UK gets another shipment. I was also on a stag do then they dropped and had other things on my mind.
-
@EdH yep soon racks up - I hear ya! Especially after a stag do too!
-
Holy smoly those sold out fast!

I was actually thinking 14oz
Pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top. You know I am in for a pair or four!
-
@long_john86 I had my fingers crossed to see that last, lonely pair of 44s drop off the site!
While I'm sure the order wasn't as big as something like the 634 21oz, it's strangely validating to see how fast these completely sold through.
I genuinely didn't know if it was just a small group of us that were really down for the 1955 cut, or if there was enough appeal to actually justify the production. I'm sure the big concern (rightly) was that despite all of our noise they'd just sit on the site for ages - condemned forever as a bad business move.
Luckily that's not the world we live in.. Team muscular leg may be in the minority, but we have spoken!
-
They sold fast because higher rise straight leg jeans are the best! I held off on this run because 21oz is too hot for the desert but I would definitely be interested in a lighter fabric version. Too bad the vintage 16oz is no more because that fabric has that repro vibe that would pair well with this cut.

The minimum run for jeans is 100, so that is not the gating factor from a production point of view. What is, is our determination about what will satisfy the most people when we release something new or re-release something old.

The return of the OD or the debut(?) of the SBG would be so epic.
Either way, stoked these came back in any capacity. Skateboarders of the world thank you for catering to their insane legs.
The 1955 SBG would be my dream pair of jeans. I missed the UHR so that would be great as well. But for now the 21oz will do!

Would me nice with any of these in OD or the 21oz in OD in this cut.
-
@Hohba01 there’s a od in this cut

-
@steelworker have you compared these to the 888? Looking at the specs they look very baggy but when you look at pictures they don’t seem that way
-
@RWalleyTX - I have 1955 and 888. 1955 are about an inch higher on the rise and are definitely roomier/straight in the leg. I’m no denim historian but to my mind the 1955 definitely has a retro 50’s vibe.
I find the 1955 super comfortable and wear them for everyday wear. I get the 888’s out when I want a slightly smarter look.
Hope that helps - Bill
