Call or email division road and see what they recommend. Their service is stellar.

@Jens exact same as you. I’m torn between Large and X-Large…

So getting around to looking at one of these more seriously …
I think I’ve landed on the classic cardigan, but my only reservation is the wool. Can any of you owners comment on how itchy it feels? I realize that’s subjective depending on who you are … thanks!
-
@Brandrea I own the shawl sweater coat and the wool is scratchy, but I dont find it uncomfortable. I sometimes wear it with a t shirt and I notice the arms being a bit scratchy intially, but after a few minutes I dont seem to pay attention to it.
I wear it with a collared shirt usually so Im quite happy with mine.

@Brandrea the wool feels scratchy at the beginning but gets softer. One of mine (the Shawl one) I've already washed in the washing machine with a wool program (Dehen suggests to do dry cleaning only, but it's ok if you know how to do it) and it has become even softer. I guess since they are not for babying they will last very long as long as treated right and will get softer over time.

Thanks @Mizmazzle @endo and @stichdown.shell, appreciate the information!

@Brandrea I owned the Shawl Sweater Coat in Whiskey and I guess the "skin feel" is different for everyone, but it was absolutely the scratchiest wool garment I have ever worn. The forearm of the sleeve fits quite snug so unless I was wearing a long-sleeved mock turtleneck or something, any exposed skin felt like it was being lightly rubbed with sandpaper. I can wear my Filson Mackinaw Cruiser (which is also heavy wool) over a short-sleeved T-shirt with no issues, but the Dehen was just too much for me to handle so I sold it a month or so ago. I wish I could find a way to get along with it because the fit and quality is pure perfection. They use a different knit for the beanies, and I have three of those and wear them all the time...go figure!

@SaddleSC damn … see this is what I’m worried about. I’d say I have a slight sensitivity to wool so this is what I’m hoping to avoid.
I feel just a touch of this when I wear my N1 deck jacket, but it goes away after a few minutes …
At this price point, I’d love to be able to try one on in a store for a few minutes to see if it bothers me. Unfortunately there are no stock lists anywhere near me.
Smashing looking sweaters though … still might go for it lol.
-
@Brandrea I am sensitive to wool and I find Dehen extremely scratchy. Love the weight and warmth of the sweaters, but I have to wear a full sleeved undershirt to be able to make it through the day. Hoping with time and regular washing will tame it, but haven’t had much luck so far.
-
@goosehd Thanks for this. Sounds like it might not work for me then.
Did you buy direct from them on line?
I’ve found that buy the time you pay shipping customs and return shipping it get pretty pricing. You might as well commit to ownership
-
@Brandrea I’d suggest :
https://brooklynclothing.com/collections/sale?grid_list=grid-view&filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=And I have a 10% coupon that I can dm you.

-
@stichdown-shell thanks for the offer. I’ve bought from them before so I have the coupon code here as well.
I’m going to check their return policy now … hate to be one of those guys, but I know if it feels itchy, I’m not going to wear it.
-
@tody looking now … thanks for the mention.
-
It certainly has to do with how they treat the wool.
Andersen Andersen claims to have some special process that makes it less itchy.
My wife has two Dehen wool sweaters, and they're pretty rough. I decided not to get one after she got hers.
I tried a Heimat sweater at the Heritage Post tradeshow, also too itchy for my taste.
Again, my wife has two different moto sweaters by A Piece Of Chic, and they are noticeably different from each other.
Wool is certainly a difficult subject... -
@tody had a look just now … do you own one of their sweaters? Looking at the Skipper Jacket now …
