IHJ-64-BLK - Horsehide Modified Type III Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)

Also, no word of a lie... Last night waiting in the queue at McDonald for some Chicken Selects, I had a girl 9 years younger than me ask me if I was French, give me her a number, and call me Daddy whilst whilst wearing this jacket.
I have never been hit on so blatantly in my entire life, and can only put it down to the undeniable sex appeal of Horsehide.
Awful picture for reference, she demanded we took one together

Got caught in heavy rain for half an hour wearing this earlier, was able to literally shake it dry when I got into the office, and absolutely no water has seeped through to the lining.
I'm completely new to leather jackets, so maybe this is normal, but I was very impressed.
Did a better job of keeping me dry than my Ventile lined IH M-65

She never text me back though,
Maybe next time, don't start your text with "Hey, it's 'Daddy' from McDonalds with the black leather".

After 20 years of buying various jackets online and being disappointed due to short sleeves or too big in the body, I found this Horsehide trucker jacket at an Iron Heart store a few blocks away from me. They had a size 42 (XL) in stock. I assumed it would be too big in the body but it fit perfectly in both the body and sleeve length (I take a 35/36 dress shirt sleeve). I'm so glad I found this jacket and now looking for more. I'm trying to break this one in and wear it around the house each evening. Still lots of snow on the ground so I have a few months before I'll start wearing it. It's my first Iron Heart product but so far I'm really impressed.

@jdixon1974 great to hear

@jdixon1974 share some pics man

@jdixon1974 That's awesome! I have this jacket also and it is such a good leather jacket. The leather breaks in so nicely and really softens up. I've had mine for about a year now (I think) and wear it while riding my bike mostly, which has helped break it in. I really plan on wearing it a lot during the spring time this year. Enjoy it man, and we need some pictures!!

@travisxray Any chance you have tried on the split steerhide version of this jacket? According to online measurements, they should fit similar but want to make sure before I order. I never thought about using this while riding my bike (I've got an old guzzi that likes to try and light itself on fire a few times a year) but it would be a good way to break it in on a warm day.

@jdixon1974 I have not tried the split steerhide version, however, if the measurements are about the same I'd assume the fit would be pretty close.

Here are some pics that may (or may not) help prospective buyers of this jacket.
I'm 6'1, 185lbs and take a 35/36 dress shirt sleeve length as I have longer arms. This is the size 42 (XL) jacket.
Most leather jackets don't work for me as I need a size large for the body, but the sleeves are too short. Moving up to an XL makes the body to big and the sleeves are usually still too short.
As you can see here, the 42 (XL) sleeve length is great for me. The jacket is still too stiff to try and button up, but I can do it and it's definitely a slim fit across the chest. Chances are I'll never button it up anyways. I would compare this fit to a Schott 42 long.
Another reference point is I wear a size 42 in blazers from brands like Canali, Boglioli, Tagliatore and Lardini for the body and then get the sleeves lengthened slightly.
I usually take a size large in every other brand of jacket, t-shirt, sweater etc that I buy from various brands.
I tried on an XXL (44) of the same style of jacket in the split steer hide from IH at the store but it was too big in the shoulders, big in the chest and the arms around the biceps were baggy. This could have been because of the softer material or the size. I am interested in the Steer hide and will probably get the same 42 (XL) size in that as well if I find one.

@jdixon1974 that looks amazing, a little more spacious than mine but I'd imagine that's a net benefit if regular worn whilst riding.
Great pickup!
