Most predictable top 10, no serious flags, and yet an enjoyable race.

Random comment - how many beers have you had?
Clarkson - a shitload -
I'm definitely way more obsessed with F1 thanks to the F1 TV app subscription. CONTENT OVERLOAD.
-
@WhiskeySandwich I think it might be on the app and not the TV app but the view of segments yellow green or purple lined into the sectors is one of the best, most information dense ways of tracking the race. It almost gives you prescience. If you see someone racking up purples, you can predict they’re on track for a best lap. If you see the segments suddenly pause, something bad has happened. It’s harder to derive this stuff from the circuit map to the extent that you wouldn’t be about to watch the actual racing doing it that way.
So our “pitwall” has that, the map view of the cars on the circuit, a driver cam with audio, and then the broadcast.

@mclaincausey it was my first time playing with the features for Bahrain and i quickly realized i was missing out until now. thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check that out this weekend
-
@WhiskeySandwich it’s Live Timing in the F1 app under Segment
You do have to synchronize and I think you have to have it running when the race starts if you’re doing it at the same time or overlapping it in real time versus DVR
-
@mclaincausey Sweet, thanks. I did have a time winging it with the sync. Is there a better way than just hitting pause momentarily if its a little ahead? I guess if i was watching live it'd be synched, right? but that's usually not possible, with the kids interruptions and other stuff
-
Practice today. Jeddah: "There's a wall there." Stroll: "Oop."
-
@WhiskeySandwich even live the chances of the app and whatever broadcast being in synch are very long. I’ll generally find a good obvious spot, pause the broadcast, and let the live replay get to that spot and quickly hit play. It’s not that bad.
This Red Bull thing sure is dramatic. Not the kind of drama I enjoy either.
-
@mclaincausey I'm sure i'll get it down. Newb troubles for me.
dramatic redbull thing? did i miss something?
-
@goosehd huh, i havent heard a thing about it, strangely.
I have this thing where i live under a rock and avoid a lot of drama. -
@WhiskeySandwich One of the staff members who work(ed) at Red Bull accused Horner of demanding/controlling behaviour with very few details being released a little over a month ago. Red Bull hired a lawyer to investigate the complaint which has been ultimately dismissed. After the results of the investigation were released, the initial complaint was dismissed with nothing really being at issue. A mysterious random email was then sent to 149 people involved with F1 detailing the nature of the complaint.
Verstappen’s dad (Jos) has chimed in that the complaint is causing a lot of stress in and around the team and it needs to be dealt with. Everyone has chimed in with their views on this and commented that the entire situation is a disruption to F1.
The person who initiated the complaint was ultimately let go (fired) today for not being truthful.
-
@goosehd I guess cancel culture is still a thing. I’m glad it worked itself out. Thank you for the deets btw!
-
The truth is likely that this accusation was being used by internal factions pro and con the Horner regime.
Jos Verstappen of all people had the temerity to lash out at Horner’s alleged moral decrepitude.
-
Jeddah is going to be spicy. What a wild track. Seems inherently dangerous. I hope we get a great weekend!
-
@mclaincausey haters gonna hate, and some people looking for trouble find it. Hopefully they clear it up because it’s sounds like something everyone can do without.
-
@mclaincausey yeah every time I see them run this track I don’t remember it looking so ballsy. Some tracks just seem like they’re looking for trouble, speaking of my previous post
