Thank you guys for you help regarding my sweater question and on suggestions for alternatives. I appreciate it!
After travelling down another rabbit hole, my conclusions are: there are a lot of shawl sweaters out there to choose from and I have no idea what I want. Normally that means that I like the thought of a shawl sweater more than I really want one.
The prices for these sweaters vary greatly from reasonable (maybe I’ll pick one up to try) to absurd (holy hell, are they made from virgin unicorn hair).
I may eventually pick one up, but at this point more in the kicking tire phase. Too many good things on my list to divert funds to the wrong items.

@goosehd To add to this: did you have something specific in mind or did the email pique your interest on a more general level? There's always knitwear manufacturers such as William Lockie or the likes that offer shawl collar cardigans in a variety of materials (and prices)
-
@Tago-Mago It was more the email in general, then the discussions on sweaters on the forum re: Dehen, Andersen-Andersen, etc…
This place and the people on here all the time are not good for a person like me…

As you can probably guess I read almost every post here daily and am constantly making mental notes. Sometimes I can skip items with ease and once in a while something sticks. Recently it was the olive green Lofgren boot’s and now it’s the shawl sweaters.
Like I said previously, a bad place for rabbit hole enthusiasts

@goosehd Denis, I’m certain that You will not only pull it off but in fact excel in it. If I remember correctly, I saw earlier that You mentioned that it’s the type of wool (hard and scratchy) is one of the reasons why You been hesitant. I completely agree and my way of dealing with it is to always have at least one long sleeve layer underneath. In most cases it’s 2 layers. Some henley as a base layer and then a UHF. Doing that I did not experience any scratching except from shawl part on the neck.
Dehen also has another product (Full-Throttle Moto-Hoodie) from the same wool but with the liner. That can be easily worn with T. https://dehen1920.com/collections/sweaters/products/full-throttle-moto-hoodie-black
Going back to shawl cardigan. They are so much in line with IH in terms of quality and even the cut (trim forearms) that I went and got myself another one in grey. If that will not motivate You I don’t know what will
Sorry for the crappy photo.
