Took my third hike in these today. Love them! The back stay is starting to loosen up some. There is a thick seam where the Thinsulate layer is sewn together right at the backstay/ heel area. Think that seam is what’s causing some soreness on the back of the left heel. Getting softer though each time.
Have right about 17 miles of actual trail distance on them so far. -

Here mine are 10 years in.
holy moly never knew these existed. beautiful boot and the only version i’ve seen yet that rivals the Danner Mountain Light regarding aesthetics.

@weftyarn thanks! The IH spec was rough out but I thought smooth out would be a bit easier to clean.

Is it possible for a rugged boot to be sexy?
Survey says: indubitably!

someone rocking the Attractions Biltbuck
Lot.444 Engineer Boots ?
really like them -
@Daniel-San Now I managed to post some photos, if you need more I'll be happy to take them... have a nice evening

@Daniel-San they are in horsebutt from the Maryam tannery (like Mr Lou Wesco) but the last dyeing phase is done by them in the factory in Japan. In fact they are much less tenacious than Mr Lou, the tea leaves appear after a few months of normal wear. They are slightly higher than the Mr Lou or Role Club, relatively hard at the beginning, but the toe is less demanding and more comfortable than that of the Mr Lou, they fit a little more than the latter.

@Luijim78
great boots where did you get them ? -
@Daniel-San I bought them from DC4 Berlin some time ago, if I'm not mistaken they should restock them soon
-
@Mizmazzle How is the thinsulate working for you? Warm, hot, just right?
-
@goosehd it got up to 80° in town and near 70° in the mountains where I was hiking. The sun was blazing!! Around these parts that can bump the “feels like” temp up another 15-20°…so while it wasn’t peak summer conditions, it was quite warm.
I thought the Thinsulate was still in the comfort zone. I did roughly 7 miles of hiking yesterday in a mix of exposed hot dirt and shaded snow. Probably too soon to tell what a true summer day will be like, but so far I’d say they are looking promising.
Last summer we did a 50 mile trek over 5 nights into the Wind River Range…that’s what I’m breaking these in for now and will be the real test come July.

@Mizmazzle Are you wearing a moisture wicking sock (wool or other combo)? Feet get warm and sweat very much? At 70-80 my feet would be getting pretty warm.

@Daniel-San Such great engineers! I have the Attractions x S&S Lot 444 which has the brass hardware, Vibram 705 half sole and a collab in-sole. I found mine unworn at a consignment shop for 1/3 the retail price. They have filled the engineer boot void until I can pull the trigger on my grailed pair of Role Club engineers.
