One of those days 🥱
-
Redwing 3190 Chelsea Boots. Super comfortable and starting to age beautifully.
-
@oldsoulguy56 great photo!
-
-
@LawDawgLSU some more Western boots, love it!
-
@Dmart they would probably look a bit better with 634s instead of my 666s, but the 666s fit better everywhere else
-
@LawDawgLSU I think it looks good. I like to wear mine with the 666 and the 634 cut but it depends on the size and the hem obviously. If you are really slim, it could be too tight with the 666.
-
@LawDawgLSU personally I prefer 666 for boots. I find that wider hems can get stuck on the top of the boot shaft.
And hotty damn toddy
-
in my opinion they look great especially with the 666, the 634 are a little too wide in the knee in my opinion, personally I wear or try to do so, engineer boots everywhere and with any cut, I love them too much but often (particularly in my size) it's truly an epic undertaking to get them in

@Mizmazzle thank you
-
Red Wing 8881. Super comfortable from the get go, no break in required. Also surprisingly water repellent as I learned yesterday.
-
So many beautiful expensive boots here I thought I might lower the tone a little.
No one sells decent engineers here in Australia, and with the exchange rate it becomes a bit of an expensive gamble buying without trying. So my default is the classic "Australian work boot".
The bashed up pair is Blundstone. The fresher pair is Rossi (the better brand imo).
Cheap, and bullet proof. I use mine for everything from bushwalking to going to the pub. Only downside really is that they are useless as motorcycle boots, as they slip off far too easily.
They'll do until I finally get me some Wescos.

@jimcasey that’s a tough scenario to be in. Don’t have any Red Wings? If you have your sizing down in Red Wings you can get a really solid idea of your correct size in other boots. Then you could feel a bit more comfortable taking a risk. Maybe on a used pair of something nicer you fancy…less risk. Then once you’re sizing is established you could really go hog wild!!

It's more making sure that the shape of the last suits rather than size per se, if that makes sense? There's a joint in Melbourne that have imported Whites engineers in the past - hopefully they'll get some new stock at some point.
Used is an option too. As is the cowboy route - I've always been partial to a decent pair of roper boots.

@Mizmazzle thank you

@Brian feeling your pain man.
For what it's worth though, Corlection is a bit of a punish. I never shop there. As regards Sydney shops Blueworks is worth supporting. Lovely bloke and good selection of gear.
But otherwise, hit me up if you're in Sydney for a beer or two yeah?

Nick's.
