The Evolution of Iron Heart

Another post wash day picture, here with double 18oz Vintage!
After two prior washes, I didn't feel a pre-soak was necessary, but an unfortunate crease fade has developed on the back of the CPO...
Not overly bothered though. At this stage in my denim journey, I'll just surrender to the chaos of this wonderful fabric

This is The Way.
Also, damn homie! Those bottoms are light af!

@T4920 For sure man it is working out too. I am doing something similar with a pair of XHSib, ones that I got paint on. I have been throwing them in the washer with each load of dirty clothes. Been probably 7-8 washes over the past several months too. Definitely noticing an overall lightening up all around, with crease fades all over the dang place.

@Oaktavia I need to get some XHS, got a link on the forum who offered a pair of 634 at a great price, but don't like to have fresh jeans tempting me when I'm working on others...
If he still has them after six months in my OD 18oz I'll pick 'em up for winter!
Definitely gonna grab the XHS waist bag that was posted by Haraki San recently though, as much as wanna keep fucking up my Hickory one, I think the quilted panelling will lead some amazingly unique fades

Just over 1 year old with 72 days of wear ..
Day 1
Day 72
@Jcaz6996 Unbelievable results for just 10 weeks of wear. What did you do in it to fade it to that extent for such short period of time? If it's not a secret of course
-
@Giles Apparently he works really hard
-
I sit at a desk all day at work, but walk a lot, and wear my denim all the time I'm not sleeping (and occasionally when I am).
Always still yielded great result on my jeans over the years, but I have too many shirts in the rotation to see much noticeable change up top in the short term.

IH666SBR-14, 55 days of wear. -
@Oaktavia The key word is "some"
-
@WhiskeySandwich very freaking amazing cool
-
@Yoprst sorry for the late reply No secrets lol , as Giles said I’m a Carpenter I work on a construction site erecting Timber frames houses . Physical job working long hours definitely helps with the evolution process . As Steve mentioned put enough time into wearing a particular piece and the fades will come just enjoy the journey
-
Impeccable fades James! @Jcaz6996
The thing with shirts is that you just rotate more so reaching the magic point of wear days just seems like a much longer time.
I wore the 62 BLK renovating the garden house for a week straight and it faded like magic. Also here’s my SBGs at 107 wear days for good measure

I'm a teacher also and being able to put 10+ hours a day into a single garment helps significantly. At least the sleeves showed similar fading with my Blaumann Type 2 in the same timeframe as Jcaz6996 was wearing his shirt. However the body of the garment won't fade as much if you don't work physically half of the day. In the evenings I'm making a small potato patch in a part of my garden. That also helps a little with the fades.
Unfortunately I'm sick at the moment, so there is not much fading or teaching this week. Let's see what a couch can do to my denim :).
