IH-777S-142bb - 14oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Black/Black
-
picked some up today after dropping my 777s-21 off to be tailored
-
@bromp congrats, great jeans, great fit. Wearing my pair too right now.
-
@Lowlander thanks! they're great so far :~)
did you do an initial soak when you got yours?
-
@bromp no I didn't soak these. They're one-washed I think so shrinkage should be negligible.
-
Enjoy the ride @bromp Meantime I got two of them.
-
Going off previous restocks would I be correct saying the next one will be early 2025?
-
Slowly but surely:
-
Awesomeness!!! Hope my 295 comes anywhere near that beauty one day

Just got a pair of these on Grailed. The seat and the back rise are pretty tight. The thighs are slim but doable. Mostly just the plumber crack issue. Do these have some stretch in these areas over time?? I like black denim in particular very slim. Looks slicker. But the difference between slim and too tight especially in raw denim is literally a quarter inch sometimes.
-
Love midrise… low rise needs to die in 2012.
-
@RJScheuerle mine were also very tight when new. There was some stretch after a few wears but not as much as with the flagship 21 oz.
If they're still uncomfortable after a week or so, you could try more extreme measures to stretch them. Some around here have used car jacks for instance--apparently those can do wonders, as long as you're careful.
-
@RJScheuerle they do loosen up but the weave is tight and it takes a while.
-
I’m glad I had some patience. I did my classic technique of some lunges, some warm shower water while wearing them, more lunges, tight belt to hold them up, wear them until they dry on my body, more lunges, and wear em for 12 hours. Now they fit like a glove. That perfect quarter inch pinch of extra fabric in the thighs.
Despite the tight weave, these are actually stretchier than they first appeared.
I will say that what is nice about the shorter back rise is they are less prone to diaper butt. Some other brands (RGT strong taper) are perfect on first wear but the typical 1 inch stretch in the seat results in terrible back sag.
-
@RJScheuerle good to hear your efforts paid off!
-
I’d say the fit is spot on. Just need to hem em now.
-
@Lowlander These look great!! May I ask: how long did you wear them to achieve this?
Also, do you find the 142bb to be hot? Some have said the broken twill 14 oz is more breathable. Curious to hear your take as someone who has clearly put the work in to this pair.
Congrats and I look forward to following how they evolve!
-
@WhiskeySandwich Wow! Those almost look like indigo or 142ib in that light.
