Has anyone checked parking situation and costs in Gosport (Travelodge)? I can rent a small car in Gatwick for around 85 Euro for the whole Friday to Sunday period, and tempted to do this to avoid train hassle (in particular on the way back Sunday). Any other issues I have not realized (e.g. horrible traffic situation from and two Gatwick when doing this by car)?

@Tobi It is a bit of a lottery depending on times @Alex will know that journey better than me as he goes up the A3 a lot and I think there is some work being done when this merges with the M25 (which will be the way to Gatwick). There are other more scenic routes though so you are not bound by this route should the traffic have built up.
As long as you are not in rush hours (Monday-Friday 7am-9ish and 3.30pm-6ish) you should be fine.
Re parking around here there are a few paid for parking locations, one very close to the office with a parking meter. We have a few additional permits to park on site as well.
Travelodge website for Gosport says the following:
Long stay parking is available at Walpole Park Car Park, PO12 1NH.
Charges apply daily between 8am and 7pm, parking is free outside of these hours.
Charges as follows: 1 hour - £1, 2 hours - £2, 3 hours - £3, 4 hours - £4, 5 hours - £5, up to 19:00 - £6Mumby road lorry park car park is a 2 minute walk and can pay and display there.

Sure, not sure if they’ll say anything of course but that blurb covers it

@goosehd I'm a lawyer, any problems using that ticket, call me. How do mate's-rates of just £250 per hour (plus sales tax at 20%) sound?
