WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
Seems like it's forever since I've worn IH and/or posted anything over here… Been to busy doing summery things and wearing summery clothes, sorry
Not today but last week (and the week before that) I drove all around Scotland with my wife. Went up to Orkney which was amazing and definitely the highlight of my trip. We were very lucky with the weather, it rained very little on a few occasions. I wore shorts and a tee for most of the time but here's a pic from Edinburgh of me wearing IH
And here are some of the highlights of our trip. I love cask ales and tried to taste as many as possible which was hard since I was driving all the time. But I did have some good ones such as this
Had some nice pub grub as well
And then some of the other highlights. We were driving towards Fort William and stopped for a coffee at a nice café with a view. The castle seemed familiar right away in some strange way and then I realised it was the Castle Aargh from Monty Python and the holy grail! I almost started crying in joy when I realized I'd accidentally stumbled on a place where one of my favorite movies had been filmed.
The Orkney Islands are scattered with prehistoric buildings and monuments and since I'm a complete history geek I enjoyed it immensely. Here are the standing stones of Stenness
and the Ring of Brodgar (or a part of it)
Hope you enjoyed the pics!

Amazing pics Jii

Hey Jii, did you get to Skara Brae on Orkney? That place just blows me away, a housing estate thats 2000 years older than Stone Henge!
I sure did, didn't get any good pics though. There's one right next to the Stones of Stenness as well, not in as good shape as Skara Brae but fascinating still. I also went to Maeshowe, a stone age burial mound, which was amazing. Inside it there were runes that were carved in the wallstones by vikings, absolutely amazing.
Oh and Blackheart, even though I live in "Europe" I have to travel to central europe to experience any places with historical significance. Not much history visible over where I live thats older than a couple of hundred years. It blows me away that people in 3000-2500 BC in the UK and Ireland (I've visited Newgrange over there which was amazing) already had such a rich culture and there's so much of it left for us to experience.

I've been England, Scotland, Germany , Belgium ( that's right Seul! ) and Holland, I miss those places every
single day Jii. Your pics and other members pics bring me closer and I love you all for posting them.
Some day I plan to venture father and experience the places you have and dig deeper into the history and
culture as well. -
I do, I love Europe in general and Belgium was wonderful.
