Definitely psyched to see that one. Jeff Nichols is the man.

-

-
@mikebarhoot - Alien Romulus for sure

Me and the Mrs caught this movie last weekend. It’s a great Independent movie. Based in freemont California circa 2008. Not giving away to much but it’s like coming of age type movie spot on for that time period, skateboarding involved etc. Highly recommend, I’m sure it will be out to stream soon.
At home we’re watching Madmen, my wife has never seen it and I haven’t watched since it aired. Worth the re watch -
I’ve been laid up with Covid and just watching tv non stop. This movie was by far a standout (currently on Hulu)
-
@Inorganic i had foot surgery 2 weeks ago and this will be my first non dr appt outing since.
@prpx gonna boil down to timing and handicap seat. lol. alien @ 6:30 and Deadpool @ 7.

Just finished watching The Substance. First half was like an anxiety attack (reminded me a lot of requiem for a dream in a way). And then there is the second half
-
@flannel-slut really can’t wait to watch this
-
@DeeDee85 It certainly was an experience

@flannel-slut I watched this with some out of town guests this weekend and I was the only one that liked it. It was miles over the top at some points, but holy crap what a ride they take you on.
-
@jordanscollected haha, that’ll teach them to visit you again! And completely agree, while zero urge to give it a second viewing, definitely appreciate a movie that is able to evoke emotion… what a ride indeed

My wife wanted to watch “My Old Ass” (Amazon prime). I didn’t know anything about it but I’m a fan of Aubrey Plaza so we gave it a go. We both absolutely loved it. Sweet and funny coming of age movie that was truly touching by the end. It was filmed around Muskoka lake in Canada…some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen and now we both want to go. I think it touched us because our kids will be that “leaving home” age pretty soon and it perfectly captured that bittersweet feeling

@flannel-slut watched this yesterday... never been more disturbed by a piece of media in my life!
Thoroughly enjoyed, but never wanna see it again...

@endo one of my better English teachers in high school had assigned us Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Apocalypse Now, brilliant adaptation.
