IH-829-BLK - 21oz Serge Work Pants
Our classic work pants, constructed from a hard-wearing 21oz Japanese serge. A heavy cotton twill similar to denim, this is the same fabric as our 21oz Wabash (just without the bleached dots), woven with highly saturated black sulphur-dyed yarns which will gradually fade to high-contrast shades of grey with wear. Cut to offer an unrestrictive, relaxed fit, our work pants exemplify the over-engineering that Iron Heart is renowned for - featuring reinforced belt loops, heavy twill cotton pocket bags and high-strength poly/cotton stitching.

Great news!

In case you're curious how this fabric fades
-
Any ideas how much stretch this fabric has compared to the flagship 21oz denim? The tag 33 looks perfect everywhere but the thighs where I could use an extra half inch.
-
@KA56 See IND thread:
@Giles said in IH-829-IND - 21oz Serge Work Pants - Indigo:It's a twill, it'll stretch 2-3cms. One of the reasons that denim (which is a twill) and twills in general have been historically used in jeans/workwear, is that they strech and mold...
Basically it is impossible for a twill weave not to stretch....
-
@KA56 these will stretch, and probably a similar amount to the 21oz denim. That said, half an inch of stretch is a lot for the thigh. I always look at thigh measurements. With the 21oz denim, if I “need” anything over about a quarter inch of stretch, I’ve learned I’m better off either sizing up or asking the crew to find me the biggest thigh measurement in the batch. Unless the waist gape will be significant, I usually just err on the side of the size up. Tight work pants aren’t the play, anyway.

Appreciate the advice. I'll probably reach out to the crew when I order these to see if I can't get something closer to 13" than the listed 12.7" (fingers crossed they don't disappear immediately). Unfortunately I can't do much extra room in the waist because I usually wear my shirts tucked, so too much room there looks sloppy and makes the crotch bunch awkwardly.

Scored! Super excited about these
