At the recent party on Gosport, @Giles punched out my name in a piece of cardboard/stock. He used this awesome old timey letter punching mechanical machine in the repairs shop. @endo was there and I think @Fades-for-future was too but I didn't realize it was him at the time. Anyways Giles was saying he spray painted tshirts or something similar with other words he punched previously.
Not sure who's idea it was to spray my name stencil on a pocket bag of my new UHRs I had just bought there. Giles said the paint he used before in the shop had been there for a while and was likely too old to risk it. He recommended I just do it at home. So here it is, my modded pocketbag name tag made my the dude himself. Just got around to doing it tonight. Oh, and not to forget the Boss's John Hancock below it (don't fret, I made sure to cover it before spraying).
I didn't notice before but it appears a certain someone must have been shown the nifty letter punching machine before me. Wonder who it could be. @Kasi

Thanks man, glad you dig. I really love this pair now more than ever. Ties them to that specific trip to the UK that I will always remember fondly.

@Alex what is the rule of thumb for sizing with UHR - should you choose your regular size or size up? In my W32 the measurements show 32.2" only i.e. there is no allowance for shrinkage. Even if they stretch back out after some wear, you have to be able to get in them in the first place for that

Slightly bigger than you would want 21oz when new, to allow for shrinkage.
Мy next size is W33 which measures 33.5" dry. Will it shrink to 32"?
-
@Yoprst. What size do you wear on the 21oz?
-
If you are wearing tag 32 on the 21oz i would get the same tag size on the UHR. If you look at the measurements the UHR starts 0.4 of an inch bigger in the waist allowing for some shrinkage. Even it it shrinks an inch, you will get back to pre shrunk measurements within 2 wears.
-
@yannis I never wear 21oz before. 888 UHR W32 = 32.2" leaving only 0.2" shrink allowance which I doubt being enough. To stretch your jeans wearing them you have to get in them in the first place to start the process and this is my main concern
-
I understand. Are you basing your measurements from a pair of jeans you already own?. If yes, use the IH measuring guide and do not go by tag size. Get a pair with measurements as close as to a pair that you own and fits you well. For reference I wear tag 36 in the 888 and 634 cut and my UHR are the same tag size as the rest.
