@Oaktavia sucks the hear, that was on my To Watch list...
Some friends and I made a special effort to get together and Bert Kreischer's The Machine movie last year and we're also grossly disappointed..
Sat in silence for the first half without a single laugh, until someone piped up and said 'this is really shit isn't it!?' to unanimous agreement.

Forgot to post about this but saw the trailer for “Nosferatu” when we went to see “Godzilla Minus One” and it was the scariest fucking trailer I have EVER seen. Had to cover my son’s eyes for fear he’d be permanently scarred. Of course now I can’t wait to see it. Eggers makes some scary stuff

Caught the new gladiator movie with the fam, day after thanksgiving. It was really good, glad re watched the 1st one with my wife week ago. Would recommend re watching the 1st or atleast YouTube recap video, before watching new one . I didn’t think would have much to do with the 1st one since came out 24/25 yrs ago . But good amount of references, explain most in the movie but def better have fresh viewing of the original.

@meatmarketdenim1 My family takes knee to maximus desmus meridius, commander of the armies of the north general of the felix allegiance -loyal servant to the true emperor marcus aurelius… great to hear the sequel holds up 🫡

I haven’t seen the play but there is absolutely no shame in enjoying it or the movie and I’m looking forward to them. I do love the old Wizard of Oz movie.
We saw Moana 2 for my daughter’s first cinema experience. The music was a major step down and the writing and plot were an even bigger step down. Good enough for kids but not something I’d want to rewatch as I have the first one.
-
@mclaincausey I agree, no shame whatsoever, it was a great movie!
That's too bad about Moana 2, there was a line out the door yesterday for that movie. The first one was so good!
-
@Oaktavia the composer of the songs in the first one didn’t do this one and it shows.
Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable in the moment but in hindsight the story to some extent seemed like a rehashing of the first movie and there needed to be more exposition and motivation for the villain IMO.

I rewatched Wayne's World yesterday, as it's been more than two decades since I've seen it. It was highly quotable, but it didn't hold up all that well. I'm not surprised but I'm a little sad. Don't be like me. Let the old movies that were iconic parts of your youth stay as memories.

@Tago-Mago words to live by. Thanks bud!
-
@seawolf sage advice. Watched Revenge of the Nerds a few years ago and the rape scene just hits different now.
(Though the talent show scene still works.)
-
@mclaincausey Probably best to leave the old movies alone and let them live in a happy place in our memories. Last year, my wife wanted to watch some classic Christmas movie she'd never seen, and we shut it off when they busted out the blackface.

I think the same thing when I see the Capital One commercial with Sat Night Fever Santa. I’m not sure the director watched the whole movie.
