Luggage Bags and Packs
-
This is my 13" in the portrait. I think there's plenty of room to fit a 14" MBP
-
That thing transforms the utility of a tote. Still a backpack guy but that makes it a much more attractive form factor than just a giant bucket bag.
-
@mclaincausey It's a slick idea, and seems to be executed really well. If I didn't use my tote as a bucket bag all the time, I'd be all over this.
-
@endo I've got a Defy Verbockel, which measures 18.5" X 13.5" X 6.5", and the volume is 28+ litres. DSPTCH say the tote is 17" X 15" X 6", so they're roughly the same size, though they list its volume as being somewhat smaller at 19 litres.
I can travel for a week out of the Verbockel. Assuming that the tote is a similar volume, you should be fine.

@mclaincausey my wife has one in her Goyard St Louis and I have one in my Emil Erwin tote. Amazing piece of kit.

I love my Ortliebs:
And I give them shit. This one just bust on a long haul (well, I did 6 long hauls in 7 days, so could have been any one of them)....
I could not find the part on their site, so dropped them a note.
Here is the reply. What the fuck is there not to love.....?
Hi Giles,
I might be able to find some slightly used ones in our workshop spares that we can post out for free.
Please can you let me know your address?
Kind regards,
Jess
It took them 5 minutes to reply though, which was a bit of a let down......

Nice. Good customer service really is not that difficult. I can’t believe how so many companies fall so short. Love when businesses actually give a shit about making a customer happy.
-
Yeah G got me to look at Ortlieb singing their praises and I got a 110L dry duffel that is simply incredible. The robustness of the tarpaulin and seam sealing, excellent ergonomics, functionality, and the wheels just glide. It’s incredible. I’m nowhere near needing service on it but good to know it’s there if I ever need it.

@Tago-Mago You're actually funny though. Must be from the British side of your family?
-
@Tago-Mago I grew up watching the likes of Monty Python and Flying Circus, and it genuinely shaped my sense of humor. I love British humo(u)r.
