IHDR-502-KHA - 12oz Cotton Whipcord Cargo Pants - Khaki

tempting… how did you size these @EdH ?
are these similar to 17 Oz duck => no stretch? -
@weftyarn Too early to tell whether they'll stretch at all, I only wore them to confirm their dopeness yesterday and it's too damn hot and humid here to give them a proper wearing right now. I'm craving cooler weather...
As for sizing, you know the drill by now dude - measure your favourite pants and compare to the charts!
But I went with a tag 34, same as my latest 888S-SLB (from the latest run, which is smaller than the initial run). The measurements were almost identical, only difference is the thigh is about an inch narrower in these 502 than my 888S-SLB now that I've got the stretch out.
Oh, and P.S. I got a good inch of stretch out of my 888 Ducks in the waist. I wear a tag 33 in those which fit excellently now.

@EdH Awesome. Dopeness (and cooler temps) is exactly what i’m after.
your input is actually much appreciated
I learned to read the charts but sometimes it’s all about the fabric. if i had picked all fabrics based on my original 21Oz waist measurement i would have to go on a serious diet to fit in themi have no clue about this fabric so any input on stretchability is very helpful
-
Greeeeeat, so 35 it would be
Thanks guys! -
@Alex perfect - thanks
-
@tody I’ve had 1 inch of stretch after 2 days wear, one with no belt. Went from 34.1 to 35.1, starting from a tag 34.
Maybe it’s because these aren’t a normal whipcord, something to do with the oversized weave?

I've been checking this one out and am conflicted.
I do have a pair of size 36 888 14oz bb that was snug at first but after a few wears it seems to have stretched to where it was comfortable. But I'm guessing size 36 in this fabric wouldn't work out for me as it seems to have no stretch. There seems to be some conflicting info where there's supposed to be no stretch, but some others did experience it. Was hoping if there were any others who could share their experience. Thanks.

I have them both. The 502 14oz ib in size 36 and the whipcord I took tad 38. The 14oz denim stretched as usual about an inch in the waist and 0.5 inch in the thigh. The whipcord not so much. Specially the thigh.
-
@yannis thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. Guess I’ll have to sit this one out then
-
What is your concern? You think if you take tag 38 it will be too big?
-
I meant that tag 36 would be too small. I usually get 36 in IH jeans and need some stretch to accommodate - seems like that wouldn't happen with these cargo pants. I would get 38, but not available at the moment.
-
@mental_messiah what is the waist measurement of the denim you own? Have you checked against the measurements of this?
-
@Tago-Mago I did check against the 888-14bb - which is just at 36".
If it helps, I also have the 634-21od which is 36.5".I'm just concerned given this fabric seems to be from a tighter weave vs denim, I may find it restrictive. Just hoping there is a bit of room to stretch in case. And when looking up division road's sizing, they recommend to go a size up from the regular denim tag size.
-
If the 88814ib is roomy on you, you should be fine with tag 36. If they are a bit tight I would steer away. The 502 tend to have a slightly more tapered fit that the 888's.
-
yeah I wouldn't call them roomy on the waist, more like just right after stretching to 36”. sounds like it's not meant for me then
thanks for clarifying -
Did anyone get confirmation on how much this material stretches?
I've always been a 32 in the 888, but the 33 in the 502 is closer to my best fitting jeans except for the waist. As long as the waist doesn't stretch an inch I'm leaning towards the 33.
Anyone from the IH crew have a recommendation?
If I get a 32 will they break-in to comfortability or is that the wrong way to size these?
