American Football (NFL)

Yeah I’ll disagree on that and what you think is genius could just as easily have been rolling over, but where I think the zig v zag admiration is warranted is things like going for it when the statistics say yes but everyone else says you’re crazy. He was a pioneer in the NFL as far as opting for statistics over loss aversion. NFL coaches were making the wrong choice in those scenarios 90% of the time. Bellichick got beat up for it but the league has since started to lean into economics more so that figure has probably gone down.
High school coach Kevin Kelley deserves the credit for bringing this approach into football, and Bellichick deserves the credit for paying attention and having the guts to try it. He doesn’t deserve credit for Carroll making a dumb decision.

Agree to disagree but respect your take

Respectful of other people’s football opinions?!?! Well now I’ve seen it all.
If @mclaincausey came at me with that kind of talk about Harbaugh I’d release the most insane, incoherent, and profanity laced response imaginable. Go Ravens! ️

@Matt dude I totally did that though. That man lost you a shot at a SB last year

@mclaincausey Does he deserve/get credit for coaching the defense into knowing that when the Hawks line up like that they’re going to pass. Malcom Butlers words in his post game interview after the interception.

Yep he gets credit for all things defense. Just not for Carroll’s oopsie including passing but also having predictable formations. If Carroll were a bit smarter he would have set up a rope a dope with that formation and then given it to Beast Mode.
