Side note but quasi related… anyone watch an older food documentary called Hiro Dreams of Sushi? There’s a scene where Hiro is at the fish market and all the fish merchants have reserved their best catch in hopes of Hiro honoring them in choosing their tuna. Can’t help but imagine it similar to Hiraki and the local mills.

I have my own version when trolled by yachties who smugly say when talking about SAKURA "Bet she costs a lot to fill up"
“Sure does… good thing I can afford it.”

The saga continues...this time from a support specialist at my work/school. She sends emails about these "secret spirit" days that have themes staff are asked to dress and participate in. If the students notice staff members are all matching, staff are asked to play along and say something like, "Oh, I don't know what you are talking about or mean!" To mess with them...
Its basically to have a little "fun" at a Title 1 school. I have yet to participate...why? Because I'm always wearing my denim of course.
Examples in the past have been wearing all black, wear all green like the Grinch, wear mismatching socks, etc. Well, look what it is this time, this is the actual email:
This isn't the first time either. They have dedicated regular spirit week days to "dress like Mr. O" by wearing all denim everything in years past. This particular staff member was my 4th and 5th grade teacher as well so she is always joking around. Aw geez...

@Oaktavia brilliant

@Oaktavia haha that’s awesome dude. I like it. We have a denim day at work every year and my co workers joke that “it’s just a regular day for Tom” lol
-
@WhiskeySandwich next time you could dress in a suit and tie, just to mess with them

@Oaktavia what's a Title 1 school?
In the US, "A Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides supplemental financial assistance to school districts for children from low-income families. Its purpose is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps by allocating federal funds for education programs and services."

@WhiskeySandwich hahaha

@Oaktavia hell yea!! We do those secret “spirit days” too.
At my last school, the office manager hand made me a kilt thing out of old jeans and flannels so I’d finally participate in the spirit days because I too was always wearing all my denim and never wanted to dress for the silly spirit themes. -
@Mizmazzle haha oh wow that's actually pretty amazing!

My friends would say the same thing!

I will take the plunge and join in on the denim day on Thursday in solidarity with your school fun day.
