Hey gang, just some feedback on the insulated flyers club jacket. I have been wearing it quite a bit and it's warmer than I thought it would be. Today it was 2°C on the bike with the children on the way to school and layered with a long sleeve Tshirt, not a thick one, and a medium weight wool jumper I was more than warm enough even in the wind.
Really great jacket, I like it so much I might need to pick the waxed one up too. The mouton is super soft and warm and the fit is really on point, definitely on of my favourite jackets! It's also not a super heavy jacket, the wool version that is, which is nice. I also have the heavy duty zip hoodie and that is much heavier and not nearly as warm. Still super cool though!

Hello!
The ebay gods were good to me in December and I found a waxed canvas flyers club jacket. It's the non insulated jacket and it's, as @Mizmazzle says, not a warm jacket at all. It's great when layered with something like the IH (IHJ-118) liner under it, or even a thick wool sweater and one of the Carhartt WIP classic vests underneath it, then it does a great job. I was out in Berlin in December and with the aforementioned layering I was good down to 0°C in some ice rain. Popping that Mouton collar up really makes a huge difference and it's oh so soft.
Another thing worth mentioning is that it's much roomier without the padding on the heavy duty version and, this is an older version of the jacket, and the sleeves are much shorter. Still, really nice jacket, would recommend it fosho!

I do love their hats.

@gazza61 Same here! I also have 3. They fit the best of any that I have tried!
-
@BalticBob they look good and fit the best and keep my head nice and toasty.
-
@BalticBob congrats dude. How much warmer would you say the insulated heavy duty version is?
-
Thank you, still excited to be the luckiest guy.
It's quite a bit warmer than the lined waxed canvas one; the lighter version retains almost no warmth, it's more a shell jacket that is better for bad weather, whereas the wool one with the insulation is actually warm and retains heat. I would not stand outside in freezing cold in it from prolonged periods but if your layering game is good and you have a liner, like the IHJ-118 or an insulated vest, something slim like the Carhartt WIP classic vest, then you're good to go even when it's really cold in my experience (really cold for me would be around 0°C, below that is exclusively down jacket time because being cold sucks).
The collar on the flyers club jacket also really makes a difference and did I already mention how soft it is? I know I keep going on about it, but it's really that good.

I noticed some of the quilting stitching coming undone in my flyers club jacket and upon closer inspection found the lining is pulling out at the join to the arms. Honestly, not super happy about that so I’ve raised it with Dehen.
I have a number of pieces from them, never had an issue with their stuff but this one didn’t work out as well.
I’m note sure how one repairs this.
-
@BalticBob oh man. That does suck. Please let us know how Dehen handles the issue. Hopefully they find a way to make it right for you. If I recall you’re in Europe somewhere, correct?
-
Yes I’ll keep you posted. I hope they have some good news for me!
Yeah, I’m based in Germany.
-
@BalticBob at this price point, I’m certain they will want to make it right .

@Brandrea @Mizmazzle They were great, I emailed them and they spoke to their production and came back to me today with a shipping label and asked me to send it back to them to repair.
Hats off to Dehen, they did good. Their stuff is great and I'm happy to see they also fix defects without a question.
-
@BalticBob That's amazing! Especially that they covered the shipping too! Glad to hear they handled things so well.
-
@BalticBob great to hear Bob and thank you for sharing this experience

@BalticBob Fantastic outcome. I hope you get it back soon!
