IH-634S-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - SBG
-
@Leadley the 14oz denim isn’t bad by any stretch, but if you want the definitive Iron Heart experience, I think the vast majority of folks around here will tell you the heavier stuff is the way to go.
Beyond just being sort of the spirit of the brand, the heavier denim just bunches up and creases in a way that creates the most interesting fades. Plus the 21oz denim in particular is very comfortable and soft. I’d describe the 14oz I’ve owned as being a bit more rigid. Hope that helps!
Edit PS my apologies if you already knew all that and I sounded like some sanctimonious jeans dweeb haha…
-
@popvulture haha not at all, appreciate the insight. 21 could be the way…

Looking for a fit check on these. Tag 32 in a 32” waist. Feels good in the waist. Not tight or loose and I can sit comfortably. Just not sure if I should size down or keep these.
-
@bluemantra +1 on keeping. They look great
-
fit spot-on @bluemantra if 634 is your cut then this is your size
-
@bluemantra fit looks good, once you get some wear in to them they will start to drape nicely too
-
Keep them @bluemantra The fit is spot on! Well done
-
@bluemantra agree on fit good to keep. You seem to have the option to try more tapered and slimer fits, so that is the option if you find the 634 a bit wide in the legs ..
-
@bluemantra add me to the long list of agrees. Great looking jeans on you!
-
Thank you for all the wonderful replies. I’ll be send these in for hemming. I do have the 777 and 666 as well for slimmer fit, but wanted the original classic 634 as well. It is the most comfortable for sure.
-
@bluemantra perfect fit
-
That's a great fit. I have the same size as you @bluemantra in these 634 SBG and I absolutely love them, more than the 634 originals.
-
Just remeasured mine after 10 days wear. They arrived with waist at 34.8. Now sitting at 36.25. The stretch is there if you need it.
-
@68degreesorless They did feel quite stretchy in the waist. Much more than my XHS.
-
@68degreesorless How are you feeling with the sizing you went with? From reading your posts they seemed pretty tight in the beginning.
-
@bluemantra I made the right call. Definitely a little uncomfortable for a few days, but right where I want them now. I've come to realize that my ideal fit requires some upfront "discomfort investment." But I also think plenty of folks size them right to begin with and are still happy in the long run. If you size right to begin with, you won't get as much stretch as I did.

@the246guy is the SBG a faster fader than the original or XHS?
