Do you guys think I can get as much as 3/4" stretch in the thigh measurement. I'm currently wearing a 31 in the 634s wh they fit perfect with a 12.25" thigh
I think the charts says 11.5" new.Joshjames

I'm very interested in getting a pair. They will be my first venture into IH if I do.
I wear a 31 waist normally in most brands - 316, Momotaro - the problem is with my thighs, as they are fairly big. Hell, I think I can fit into a 30 waist, but I need some room in the rise, and in the thighs. I hate having a tight crotch, not being able to lift my leg, etc.
Should I go with a size 31 or 32? I can make more exact measurements on myself and my denim later.
Thanks

Introducing (not for the first time I may add), the "Padmore stuck record"….

The 21oz. denim stretches a fair amount in the waist, because it's a pretty loose breatheable weave. If they're tight to begin with, I've heard some folks say that they've gotten one or two inches of stretch from their jeans. The thighs, knees and the rest of the legs will also stretch, but not near as much, because they don't undergo as much stress.

@173:
Thanks. Can you tell me the stretch and shrinkage norm for the 634S-B? I know Samurais are known for stretching a lot, for example. I read that Iron Hearts stretch very little, maybe a half inch. But please, let me know.

- Overdyed, so zero if any shrinkage, but like all denim, will stretch up to one inch in the waist with wear

Well, my bad… I didn't see that part. And I had no idea overdying affects the shrinkage properties of a denim.

Well, the 21oz denim is sanforized, so it doesn't really have much shrinkage in it to begin with, but the overdye process is basically a very long, very hot wash. After that, whatever shrinkage was left is gone. That's why all of the overdyed products tend to run a bit smaller than their normal counterparts.
