WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
@goosehd that’s not a decision
-
-
@goosehd I’m sure if you sell all your heavyweight IH gear you’d be set for life & live out your tiki bar dreams to it’s fullest
-
@Tago-Mago …really don’t know, but if you can figure it out, it would settle a few (many) arguments.
-
On my way to pick up my younger brother. We’re going to cook lunch for our mother (80 years).
-
Spent most of the week at the ranch and got back last night, so these are not technically TODAY pics…
We are midway through our rainy season and this bridge is normally covered by at least 3 meters of water in mid February but the year is shaping up to be a dry one. On Wednesday only one end of the bridge had about 40 cm of water so still safe for driving over it.
Pic of the old house (circa 90 years old) of a ranch which recently changed ownership. This one is on the way to mine. I hear the new owners will tear it down and build something new.
Maybe some of you guys know this fruit? Locally called acerola, called Barbados cherry in english (Malpighia emarginata). Hardy plant, bears a lot of fruit nearly year round. Tart and sweet. Fruit birds love it. Attracts toucans which are nice to look at. Good for eating right off the tree/shrub and excellent for juices too. Never tried it in a cocktail but I bet it would work nicely.
Flew back home in AVRO RJ 100, nice plane. The landings on it are exquisitely soft and gradual.
Oh yeah the SS shirt is a Shuttlenotes…one of the reasons I make a yearly plead for more IH SS light fabric shirts. I hear SS24 ought to bring nice things my way.
All in all a good trip. -
@motojobobo wow looks like a cool trip! The roof on that old house is insane, I guess that’s due to extreme weather differences? Those cherries are huge!
-
I was up at the London Motor Bike show today.
-
I made a snowman with my little one but we didn’t have anything for the face. ️

@jiminstitches not sure what caused all the piling up of those roof tiles, I suspect it is more related to multiple half-hearted attempts to patch up leaks. Disrepair for the most part.
Curious fact about those roof tiles is their huge size compared to the ones commercially sold nowadays. They are approximately 50 % longer and wider than their modern counterparts. Size mismatch makes it impossible to do neat repar work.
Back then with bad roads and very scarce motorized transport it was common practice to hire a TEJERO (one who makes tejas/tiles) and have him for months making tiles next to house being built.
Those cherries are similarly sized to the ones we all know (Prunus sp). Must be a trick played by my pics…didn’t think about using a pocketknife for size reference. -
Traversing the epic () slopes in Midwest USA. Temps were in the single digits. IHJ-75 kept me plenty warm.

Went to see the NHL points leading Canucks take on my Avalanche. Bonus: Grateful Dead night at Ball Arena! Double bonus: we won! This was Hattie’s first professional sports experience and she enjoyed it. Nuggets next!
Triple bonus: shouting “MVP!! MVP!!” When they showed Jokić attending with his lovely family. I love him so much!
