Today had the potential to be very expensive.
I popped into a local watch shop, and they had the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph in stock. It's almost certainly out of my price bracket, but since the young lady got it out of the cabinet.
The next stop was the Ducati dealership. They announced a couple of bikes at EICMA this week, and I went in looking for details. Whilst there I spotted this rather tasty Scrambler.
And then on the way back to the tram I dropped into one of the better camera shops in Melbourne. They'd just received the Leica SL. I believe @Jesselirola has one.
All in, my imaginary bank balance took a $100K hit! :o

yeah i have one on loan from leica for a project, they take care of me. i must say when i saw this announcement for this came i was a bit let down, as from their ads i hoped they were alluding the opposite of what ended up coming out. i.e., i thought they'd bring back the R system – but honestly it appears that this may be able to take the place of my D4 nikon DSLR system, if that can happen I'm stoked!
the zoom lens of this thing is heavy as fuck, i put my nocitilux M lens on there and it was balanced really well, the screen in the EVF looks like a richer version of a mirror its incredible.
so even though i just took a few frames around the studio and a shot of the camera to put on instagram (@jesselirola) I'm thus far quite impressed.
Giles -- if all goes well i'l be selling my nikon system, so i'll let you know - maybe it's time to upgrade from my old d3 to my old d4, and i have a wifi dongle on this one so for wireless tethering it's damn cool, images get sent to the camera over wifi, it's cool stuff, you can even set it up to send a jpg to the iPad (and add standard corrections to it, blacks contrast, exposure, etc...). thats that!
