IHSH-295-IB - 14oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Indigo/Black
-
Thanks @Joberwocky … I have tried a few times to go a whole year without shaving or even trimming to achieve a "yeard" status. Last time I got to nearly the 10 month mark and buzzed it...not many folks liked it, my fiancée included. I'm up to 5 months now...we'll see if I can make it to 12 this time.
Anyway, back to the topic, loving this shirt more each time I wear it, including today.

Great fit and beard, @Oaktavia
I had my coronavirus beard and long hair until a while ago:
Granted, I trimmed the beard occasionally, but I wish I could grow one as quickly as you have. As I've aged, I at least can grow a real beard now instead of an uneven scraggle. But the hair in the above was completely untouched, so I was disappointed I couldn't get it to pony tail length over those many months. It was an interesting journey:
-
At one point, I was unshowered and a bit grimy-looking working from home. I went outside to practice wheelies and manuals on my mountain bike. It was trash day, so I checked our recycling and garbage bins while I was out there. A kind gentleman in a Range Rover started backing up towards me, filling me with a sense of "ok what's all this then?" He offered me a fiver :D. I explained to him that I was so grateful for kind people like him in the world, but that I wasn't looking for food and that this was actually my house and I was seeing if I needed to grab the bins. It was such a funny story I had to share it with my wife even though I knew she'd never let me live that one down. (Which she hasn't).
-
My wife hated my hair. For a while it was a mullet. At that time, when bangs were getting long enough to be an annoyance, I said that I understood why people have mullets now, as bangs in your face are fucking annoying. I was taken seriously when I jokingly requested a barrette.
-
When it got longer, my wife warmed up to my hair. I mentioned cutting it and she was like "not now! you've made it to the sexy length! I suffered long enough!"
-
My wife then grew to sometimes love and sometimes hate my hair depending on how much of a dirtbag I looked to be. I still couldn't keep the bangs out of my face because they weren't long enough for a pony tail and I think topknots look asinine on anyone who isn't a samurai
-
The baby was quite fond of seizing my beard and painfully jerking it around.
-
I finally got the hair lopped off and removed the beard. I feel like I would miss the hair if I'd ever gotten past the annoying part and wish that had not taken so damn long!

@mclaincausey oh wow that's a pretty wild account of events! Thanks for the kind words and for sharing.

Looking good, Alex.
I gave mine another wash to see if I could get a little more shrinkage out of it. Tightened up a bit more and wore it this weekend. Will get a lot more wear with the temps starting to drop.

It really is…mine is craving a wash but I'm trying to hold out as long as possible!
It’s such a good shirt!! I just washed mine. It went pretty good, I was worried about marbling… but I think I managed to avoid it!!

Yeah, machine washed it on gentle. Worked like a charm.

Did you machine wash it? I was wondering about marbling too but I'm also not sure if it bothers me.
@Oaktavia if you want to avoid marbling, soak your shirt before you throw it in the wash. worked for me.
