Thanks nameness. Figured you would take care of this at some point. I created a monster with this one.

also American Rag in Costa Mesa. They have a denim bar there with loads of different brands. Of course it not a self edge by any means but for those located more in SoCal, its a good place to start!
-
There's an American Rag about 2 blocks south of SELA on La Brea as well.
-
really? Wow, didn't even know it. The Fashion Island one is great. Stocked with vintage jackets and leathers (some albeit overpriced) but they also carrie numerous modern brands. The décor is also really cool. Vintage machines and bins full of rivets, metalwork etc. Not to mention the overlooking ocean view is awesome as well.
-
American Rag on La Brea is okay, it's pretty big and has a mix of vintage and new. They carry a lot of local
brands like Mister Freedom, Rising Sun, Civilianaire, RRL plus Nudies and LVC. Very expensive, I don't go
in there much until they have a sale. -
Alterations??
Can anyone recommend a place in the LA area that does alterations? I picked up a jacket from Hartford Denim Co last time I was home in CT and the sleeves are good 4 inches too longplease and thank you

Living here for about a month. Anything beyond what's listed here already I should do?
-
Ahh, good one. Added to our list.
Thank you!

If you go down the road from Self Edge, there are stores for Arc'teryx, Best Made Co, Fjallraven, Reigning Champion, and Schott. It's worth a walk down that way for a browse.
The RRL store in Hollywood is also pretty good. It's in a converted gas station or garage.
In North Hollywood, there's Gallery 800 on Lankershim Boulevard, which is run by a friend of mine (Abra), so say hello if you drop by. And go to Republic of Pie (around the corner) for their excellent baked goods!
Mann's Chinese Theatre is great. It's Art Deco building, set up as an IMAX screen. It's probably a bit touristy, but fun to catch a movie there.
Further out, there are various beach cafés in Malibu. I've been to a couple, and they're quite fun. But be aware that the portion sizes at Paradise Cove are enormous!
-
Fantastic, thank you @Graeme ! Mann's was on the list as an "if we're nearby" thing, since I think we will be at various points. I actually am in the market for a black hoodie so I'd like to hit Reigning Champ before my likely decision to go IH.

@mclaincausey Mann's (actually TCL these days) is about two miles from Self Edge, so not far. You can even go for an In n Out burger whilst you're at it.
