Anyone here play video games?

Ps3's got dark souls too right? I hear people compare that with Skyrim but haven't played it yet. Got the E74 error on my 360 a few months back. Sounds like an easy fix but haven't spent he time. Meanwhile a buddy is tryin to get me on the PS3 but….. For me Xbox takes priority.

Nathan, I used to be in the same mindset as you but I got a PS3 a year ago and hardly ever turn my X360 on anymore. Haven't paid for live in years. And yes it has Dark Souls. I have not played it but have heard it's brutally difficult.
Nate, Dishonored is made by Bethesda, the Elder Scrolls people. It's kind of a steam punk version of a Count of Monte Cristo assassination/revenge story. It's not as massive as Sky rim by any means but you have near unlimited freedom in how you complete missions with an option to avoid killing people in the game entirely (nearly impossible).
-
why would you wanna not kill people in a video game? thats just silly
thats what video games are for?love non lethal stealth. I love Dishonored also, but I stopped playing while doing the last level, need to go back and finish
-
I agree - the aspect that calls to me is the freedom to tackle missions in any way you choose. You can go through and blast everyone in the face if that's your play style or you can use non-lethal stealth. Most of us would probably use some combo of those styles.
I can't freaking wait until Far Cry 3 next week… Open world ARPGs are my absolute favorite.

im considering Far Cry 3 as well. Its getting good reviews, and open world games are fantastic.

Did anyone play Sleeping Dogs? Picked up a rental from RedBox this morning.
Also, finally played Journey yesterday - BREATHTAKING!
Played Journey a couple of days ago, loved it but wished it was longer. Also how did you find sleeping dogs? i'm thinking of getting the enter the dragon style martial art competition DLC.

Played about 3 hours into it and ended up returning it - there were aspects of it I liked more than GTA4 and I thought it was a good effort. A friend of mine loved it and beat the while thing in about 3 days.
I really suck at fighting games though and found myself struggling with even the early fight sequences. I'd like to be able to use a gun at any time but I understand that's not the game they were trying to make so I don't fault them for it.

At first I was really sceptical towards Metal Gear Revengeance, but after playing the demo I think it will be an alright game, not so sure about the new characters introduced in the cutscenes though. It's selling out the whole series a bit IMHO, but it's a spin-off though…
Dishonored is one of the best games of the year, this is how I wished Deus Ex: Human Revolution would have turned out (not that it was a bad game). These kind of games are amongst my favourite genres. It could have been longer and a bit more open-world, some levels very too linear. Looking forward to Dishonored 2.
Need to find out if I like FC3 this weekend.
By the way, did none of you guys get the new Hitman Absolution? Played the first game a long time ago. The story is so ridiculous, but I cannot really say that I hate it. Killer nuns, srlsy? I am close to finishing it, but I still don't know what I should think of it, especially the introduced Instinct-feature. It's too much trial and error, which the old ones were not if you had a good plan.
-
Yep, I got Hitman Absolution and have been playing it on and off for the last couple of weeks. It hasn't grabbed me as much as I thought it would. There are too many stealth levels and not enough assassination missions. I remember reading a review in which the reviewer gave it 7.5/10 and that's pretty much how I would rate it; adequate, but not outstanding.
At the moment I'm seriously looking forward to Bioshock Infinite. If there's any game likely to live up to its pre-release hype, this has to be it. Gameplay and design look spectacular.

As a PS3 owner still patiently waiting for Skyrim DLC :sigh: …

Got to waste (aka enjoy) a few hours of my holiday playing Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on my wife's iPad. Fantastic to revisit it after so many years.
