@Heavy_blue here are some quick shots in the sun. I'll try to take more later.

Awesome fades going on there! Thanks for the pics and the time! Very curious how they develop further over time.

No problem!
Giles has the most faded pair I've seen with his sample 666. Pop over to the 16oz slubby denim sub to see.
Thanks for the heads-up, that pair is awesome indeed! Ours will get there haha! I’ll think i grab some UHR for rotation.

I just picked these up From IH UK, largely from reading through this thread. Got the perfect hem, defiantly a bit stiff to start but have loosened after only a few days wear. My current favorites in rotation for sure.
Thanks to everyone on here posting tips and advice on fit and fades!

I was in Gosport recently talking to Giles about these, and we are agreed they are the perfect IH summer jeans. More wearable in the heat than the 14oz but still with a bit of weight.

I believe it was reading Giles's thoughts or replies on here that gave me the confidence to buy these for the climate we have here in San Diego. I have a pair of the 14oz too and I would agree the slubs are nicer when its hotter, they breathe more I would say.

Can anyone give me some tips on soaking this pair? I did a quick forum search but thought Id ask on here as it is this particular style and cut.
I have worn them about ten times. I am not looking to adjust fit as its great as is and I don't want to shrink them.
My goal is to take down some of the dye transfer I'm getting on practically everything lol!

Tepid/warm water and agitation would be the way.
However you’ll only really loose the very outer layer of very loose indigo. These bleed. A lot. That will likely continue after the soak.
The only real to move indigo is friction and abrasion. So by wearing them.

Ok understood! I'll just have to be more conscious of what I wear them with, I made the mistake of wearing them with my IH white wabash shirt over the weekend, I don't know what I was thinking on that one! Lesson learned!
(It did look good though). -

(It did look good though).I wouldn’t worry too much. I stopped caring about white/light clothing years ago as everything comes out in the wash. Footwear and furniture tends to be the big problem.

Oh that's good to know about the wash. Do you just do a cold wash with mild detergent or pre treat with something?
Luckily our couch is a denim blue type color!
I was aware of the crocking on boots, that doesn't bother me at all really, In fact the next boot to go on under these is the Muleskinner Iron Rangers so I'm sure the crocking on those will get crazy.

I wash my shirts/cut & sewn on 40C in the machine with a regular detergent. I use oxy for bad stains on white or cream, but that’s mostly for marinara or curry sauce [emoji38]
Indigo bonds very poorly with cotton which is why we get fades. It also means that indigo transfer comes out of cotton very easily.

Thanks man, this is all great info that I will put to use.
Thanks for the replies!
