IHDR-434-HTP - 14oz Fox Brothers® Wool Picadilly Houndstooth Check Flannel CPO

With the CPO distinction in the title I just expected them to be there. I was planning to wear as a over shirt…no hand warmers makes it a no go for me. Bummer
-
CPO does not necessarily mean hand-warmers…..

I’m aware of that… but isn’t this the first Iron Heart CPO without them?

Iron heart glossary definition
CPO Issued to Chief Petty Officers of the US Navy since the 1930’s, the CPO shirt was originally a shirt/jacket hybrid, made of navy dyed wool. Designed as an easily removable cold weather layer for servicemen, the CPO became a post-war civilian menswear staple due to its practical qualities and versatility.
At Iron Heart, our CPO’s retain the functionality of the original military overshirt, then dial it up by adding handwarmer pockets and effective, secure, snap closure. The cut is more fitted, references western styling, but just like the originals, they are built like a battleship to protect you from the elements. Available in a variety of fabrics, lined and unlined.

Nope…..

and the other colours we made in this....
-
Nice forgot about that one. Still a lovely shirt without the pockets! Love the history of the fabric and the patterns you guys picked. This will be a great one for people who don’t care for hand warmers!

I love hand warmers. I just think this one works better without. I will be wearing it over tees/henley’s as a middle layer though.
-
I could see that… I’m really looking forward to pictures of how people style these. Especially the houndstooth one, That is such a cool pattern!! I may not be able to resist even without the pockets

Another thing, which is important to point out.
This is a collaboration.
The design inspiration behind collaborations is often (usually) driven by the collaboration partner. As long as it does not deviate too much from Iron Hearts DNA, Haraki will agree to make.
So in this case, the design was driven by Jason from Division Road, I guess even if he had wanted a single breast pocket (as per the original CPO's), Haraki would have been happy with the concept.

Imho there are marked similarities to the IHSH-163, which wasn’t marketed as a CPO but could definitely function as one.

That makes sense… it was just the cpo thing that confused me. I thought the addition of hand warmers was what made the distinction in Iron Heart terminology. Guess I was wrong, my bad.
Also I noticed you said “other COLORS we made in this” :-
I like the sound of that!! -
I like that look Neph! I think these are really gonna suit your style!
-
I thought you meant other colors of the 434
Got me all excited for a minute… I hope Iron Heart keeps a relationship with Fox! That is a cool collaboration to me, Japanese craftsmanship with British heritage and style. If that’s not people coming together to make something special I don’t know what is! -
That brown colourway is fantastic. Like a comfy old wearable couch. I mean… In a good way.
-
Oh my…the sizing is perfect.
@Matt whats the status of the Airstream?
Maybe I can live under it… :-\Sadly The Tin Palace was a casualty of our transition to semi permanent desert dwelling. We’ll likely purchase a Tin Shanty when the kids move out so we’ll be taking in IH Refugees on a state by state basis as we move along. I’ll keep you posted. I’m sure you’ll be the most dapper person sleeping beneath a camper that we come across though in this sexy SOB.

Thank you!
Regarding CPO’s. The cut of the of both the western and the work shirt CPO’s are a little different from their non CPO counterparts. A little wider in the shoulder and waist normally, with slightly longer arms.
-
Thanks for clearing that up Neph… mostly cpo (Iron Heart terminology) just means slightly oversized, meant to be worn as a mid/outer layer. I got it
Come on 1600 GMT!!
