Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…
-
I got some frameless MJ cr39 recently and they’re so good.
The super-thin glass is my go to. The polarization makes everything look a lot more vibrant. It's hard to imagine before putting them on.

@Daniel San after having the Volvox for a little while, how do you like those lenses? I've been thinking about picking up some Dealans in that color but wonder if they'll filter out enough sun for me. I like the lighter lens look but think I maybe prefer darker from a functionality standpoint.
What I really want is for them to reissue the Dealans in Shadow. Classic black w/green lenses, exposed cores. Someday.

@popvulture
I love the olive lenses but I mostly wear the volvox on more cloudy days like the other JMM I have with lighter lenses.
When it’s very sunny I prefer the Taos with the darker lenses ( called tropic, they are dark red)
But of course it’s very subjective, maybe the olive lenses are ok for you .
The Taos Glass and the Eggshell with the green lenses are ok for sunny days too !
The Taos Tempest, Hickory and Volvox are my choice for cloudy days with little sun. And of course the Walker Rootbeer and the Argyle .
Hope this helps you! -
Thanks, man — it definitely helps! I'm itchy to buy a new pair, but think I'm just going to wait until my ideal pair of Dealans pops up. Doesn't have to be green lenses, but I'd love a Shadow. Main prefs are black or dark transparent, exposed cores, darker lenses. We'll see

Decided to pass on the Anitas. Thought they were pretty similar to some other things and still not sure how I felt about the larger temples. Went back to the local shop for the wife to try on a few things and had a chance to try on Yves that they had on hand.
At the time we all thought they looked good, but in photos after the fact maybe too big? Not a fan of this exact frame/lens color combo but just for fit. Do really like the overall style of this frame though.
Also, has anyone ordered from jmm directly? Curious how fast they may or may not ship.

@pechelman The Yves can appear comically huge at first, especially if you're coming from smaller frames. I remember thinking that mine looked like those novelty party glasses at first. But now I'm used to them and I absolutely love them. They look really cool, they're very comfortable, and they give you a lot of lens coverage. And I think that they suit you really well. They do not look too big on you. I'd say they look perfect.
Which color are you wearing up there? I have them in noir (black frames, orange lenses) and they're one of my favorites. I was tempted to pick up the black frame/blue lens that just re-released.

My wife bought me some Molinos from JMM and I think they left their shop within 2 days.

My new Jacques Marie Mage Anita Lave Sunglasses . . . . .
-
@Black Orchid Did you buy those from a shop or online? Congratulations in your choice because they are perfect in colour, shape, and fit!
-
@goosehd - Thanks you for the compliment
The glasses were a recent online purchase from eBay. The seller hadn't worn them at all and as you can see they came complete with everything you'd expect when buying them new from a shop. These retail for around £550 here in the UK but I was very lucky as I got them for a steal
I absolutely love the style, build quality, fit and colour and I hope that this isn't the start of a new obsession!!

@Kasi Thank you, but I can't replace you…
@sabergirl I agree about wearing them…Most frames I find a little annoying until I get used to them but the JMM's are comfortable from the very start. Laura and I went to an optician that had quite a few pairs to try on. Laura also found a pair and
I'll try to post them later.I believe they are the Zepherin.
-
@sabergirl Thank you! She is quite pleased with them

Got a pair of Noir Donovans arriving this week that got lenses from 1269.
