Giles and Alex hit Japan - June 2022

Is that a Rolex watch unattended by its owner?
No it's @Alex 's 30th birthday present, a Grand Seiko SBGA463, IMHO, a significantly better watch than the equivalent Rolex

love the photo dump! brilliant mate!
-
That salt and pepper looking fabric is beautiful!
-
Brilliant, but so stupid exchange tonight…
G What is this fish we are eating?
S It's Puffer Fish
G What are these large round, soft bits
H Those are the male's testicles
G What!?
H Yes, I always feel a bit, sorry that I am eating my best friends......It actually got even more stupid and risqué after that, but even I will not repeat in public.....

Also significantly better than any of the 30th bday presents I got.
Maybe next birthday if you lucky

I am also very excited for broken twill. What's the timeline?

That sort of Moorish Revival building in the middle of Japan is very intriguing and cool — wonder what it was/is? Looks old. So rad.

Don’t know what it was, but it’s a Chinese restaurant now
Edit - Googled it….

Fantastic news. All cuts? What sort of weight?
-
Billed as 14 but the way he have woven is that it is super dense to give it a dark face so it feels more like 17oz. Traditional broken twill denim is woven under very high tension to give it a smooth face, ours is woven with lower tension in the earl to give the face plenty of character.
All cuts would be the plan…..

I only had to wait twelve years for Haraki to warm up to the idea…
(or is this one of those things he doesn't like, but decided to do because you convinced him it could work in the international market?)
