IH-634S-UHR - 21/23oz Raw Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
@popvulture mine are a couple of sizes bigger on the waist than I usually take so I am never going to get them past what they were originally. But they always feel loser after like a day of wear
-
@spitfiredealer01 thanks man! That all makes sense.
-
Will those offered on 634 cut only or all cuts?
-
Yep more to come.
-
Awesome! Thanks!

Here's the info that Reuben has posted in the past regarding UHR and loom state jeans and I have had good luck following this advice:
The recommended method with UHR is to soak first, then wash. This because it is loomstate. The soak activates the cotton fibres and embeds the stitching, the wash gets the shrinkage out.

Thanks for all this info, y'all — and cool to hear the waist is quickly stretching back out @Graham .
I know it's heresy to some but I'm just going to soak mine, not machine wash, just because my washing machine is a total piece of shit (I know I've mentioned this before, but I wash all of my jeans in the tub by hand). Prob will do 2 hot soaks. Expecting shrink, but def will be probably half of what I'd get out of a machine, I imagine.

@popvulture Another reason to try and get the shrink out in the beginning is so that your fades don't shift on you after prolonged wear…some people don't mind.
-
Hmm good point. Never had that happen, though — the only time I've had fades shift was when my washer taps (once again, fun with the washing machine!) were switched and a couple pairs of jeans got nuked on full heat when I thought I was washing on cold.
I'll think about it. I really don't want to use my washer if I can help it, as I'd rather have a little shift than end up with some fucked up crease fades or marbling, as my washer tends to do. The other thing is that if I did a full hot machine wash, I'd probably go up a size. That said, if 34s stretched back out to the chart size, I'd be swimming in em.
Bah who knows. This is frustrating haha…

You don’t need to use a washing machine to properly pre-soak raw denim. A hot soak, followed by a warm soak with five or so minutes of hand-agitation (I typically squeeze the denim) will do the trick. I’ve used this method for my raw Samurais over the years and it works fine.

@popvulture The shrink that you get out of the UHR's will stretch back out in the waist…the length will not (nor will the thighs/calves - unless they are under constant pressure).
Hope that helps.

@goosehd @BlueBlood both helpful — thank y'all
