I'm in Minneapolis. Let me explain what that means. It means you're either kind of a schmaltzy type who likes wearing bowling shirts and eating tater tot casseroles, or you're a hipster wearing skinny jeans, flannels, a beard, horn-rims, and a smug sense of self-satisfaction, particularly about your obscure taste in music and artisinal food and beverage products.
Ha that was so unfair. I stand by the stereotypes, but none of my friends are like that. Probably because most of us are transplants! ZING
I just googled tater tot casserole and the images make it look yummy, but I'll definitely give the bowling shirts a miss. :o
Until today I didn't really know what a hipster was either, so thanks for the education in US culture and language.

Yeah not a huge casserole guy but there's a restaurant called "Haute Dish" (play on the term "hot dish," which categorizes such casseroles) that does a deconstructed tater tot hot dish with bechamel and short rib that is a mind blower

Thanks mclaincausey, that's another question I had about US language/culture ticked off the list.
I played a Walking Dead game recently and thought one of the characters said "hot dish night", but because of his accent I wasn't 100% sure and just guessed his other nights must be cold dish nights. It all makes sense now.
