How many jeans/ pants in your rotation??
-
Here's my current rotation and probably will be for a long ass time.
805
Pronto slubs
634S-21L
FGL-19L -
This is one of my favorite denim related conversations to have and enjoy reading/commenting when it comes up.
My current summer jeans are 555S-SLB which is my only "lighter" pair of denim. Unless it is over 90F in which case I've been wearing my easy sorts this season. I used to only wear denim bottoms, even when it was muggy and hot as hell, but I don't anymore. It just doesn't seem worth it to me.
Late August-June I work indoors with much better AC than my house so I try to stick to one pair mostly. That one being my main pair that I wear M/W/F and weekends while wearing others on T/T. Usually I stick to a pattern like that, or something similar. That way, my main pair actually sees fading progress and at the same time I still get to wear other jeans and not look like a teacher that wears the same jeans everyday.
My main pair this season will either by my new 634XHS or my new 777S-21ib- both of which are on ice. I'm just not sure which one I want to see progress on (suggestions?) On days I don't wear my main will a random pair that I don't expect much of any further progress, my 805, 666UHR, 777XHSbb, or 777XHSib…and a few times a year I wear my 555S-21.
Somehow it ended up being kind of complicated. I'm not sure why, but it makes sense to me, as I hope it does to anyone who read this far.

Great thread idea and awesome to see everyone’s rotations.
My rule of thumb is to have 4 options at all time, independent of weather and occasion.
Oni Secret Denim and 21OZ are my thick yet breathable all year options, Samurai 18OZ for the colder months, Momotaro and Samurai 15OZ for the summer. Duck is my all year non-denim and Oni Aizumi my black option.
Old pairs that I don't wear anymore will either be chicken-legged for summer,
or used for repair works on other pairs / sewing projects. So here's my lineup. Proud to say that every single pair of these gets love and wear!
Momotaro 0701 15.7OZ (> 400 wear days)
My first MIJ, sold my PS4 to fund these.Samurai S0511XX 15OZ Otokogi (194 wear days)
Beautiful "Lightweight" pair. When it's hot I'm either wearing shorts or these.888S 21OZ (264 wear days)
My all year (if < 25°) + hiking pants. These get the most wear atm!Samurai S710MOG 18OZ (142 wear days)
Truly unique but not very breathable denim. These are in my winter rotation!Oni 679ZR-AIZxBK (83 wear days)
The "I can buy another jeans, because….. I don't have a black one yet, right?". Loving these! Solid option for business meetings, too.Oni 902ZR (110 wear days)
All year sweat pant comfort. One of my favorite fabrics ever. Had my previous 622ZR at 400 wear days but sadly couldn't live with the low rise anymore… High Rise ftw888D (10 wear days)
My now go to non-denim option. These have quickly become an absolute favorite!Honorable mention: Non-Selvedge Evisu from a flee market. This is the pair that it all began with! Repainted and repaired countless times. Still rocking these every once in a while.

@Oaktavia im a teacher too…5th grade. What do you teach? While my end of summer anxiety is spiking big time right now, I am taking confort in the fact that I’ll soon be able to wear my denims on the regular!!
Last night went to a concert and wore my 14.75 Tellasons and my Wescos. Oh, it was a toasty 95 degrees haha. But I was fiending for some boots and denim time.
Love all this feedback here and pics!! My planned rotation for back to school looks like this
888 XHS: M/W/F
888D: T
888OD: ThOnce the cords drop…shit?? Idk haha

@Mizmazzle oh cool, it's always nice to hear about other teachers on here. I too look forward to wearing more denim, which does aid the end-of-summer blues. Although I don't really start feeling that way until August. I teach middle school art all three grades but the past few years just 6th and 8th which I prefer over 7th. It's super cool to see you have a similar idea when it comes to teacher jeans rotation!

Well, I got my first IH jeans for Christmas last year (888OD) and wore them pretty much everyday. Haha. My students are very much a part of my denim and boot obsession. I’m always dropping random denim knowledge on them because I think it’s hilarious to see their reactions…which include eye rolling, moans and groans, and looks of disgust when I tell them I haven’t washed my jeans in months. Haha. Torturing my student is a fav pastime of mine.
So since that first pair 7 months ago my collection of iron heart and others has grown considerably haha. This year I’ll be mixing it up quite a bit more!

@Oaktavia you must go back to school a bit later then me. Teacher work week starts 8/8 (ugh I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.) that’s rad you’re an art teacher! I work in a public school. Sometimes I look at my clothes and do a quick tally of what that days outfit cost and I feel a little guilty. Then I remember I EARNED every one of those dollars working with these maniacs!!
-
My current rotation:
634S 21oz
666SII
Imogene + Willie "Hank"
Imogene + Willie "Willie"Come fall I'll throw the 666XHS into the mix. Have lots of other pairs of denim that I'll wear as well, but 9/10 times it's going to be that 634S. I've lost about 15-20 lbs in the last couple of months, so I've had to tuck some old favorites away, and will likely be selling a few pairs.

We go back on 8/10 so 18 days still kind of sounds like a good amount.
I do that too haha maniacs is an accurate term to describe public school students these days. I'm in an inner city school to- quite diverse and never a dull moment.

@chrisjohnnick what do you think about those Imogene and Willies? Looks like they have some cool stuff. I buy my lady a lot of their woman’s clothes. Been curious about some of their mens clothes too.

I'm in Nashville and have been wearing their stuff for years. I think they're mostly great, especially for a lighter weight for summer. They won't keep ya very warm in the cold, though. My favorite stuff of theirs was from about 2013-2015 or so, which most of my pairs are from. Basically anything with the orange and white selvedge stripes. I've probably had about 30-40 pairs of their pants at this point (local Buffalo Exchange always has them in for $30-$40 or so). I have lots of their other stuff, too, but most of it comes and goes as my tastes change.
Goes without saying that none of their stuff compares to IH, though.
-
Don’t really have a rotation. I just go through phases of preferring certain cuts. Then I have older pairs and I might feel for them one day and give them a couple of wears.
I’m mostly wearing 634’s (including the 822), at the moment, plus my 463’s. My IH-666L-19 are my random old pair of choice. This fall and winter my UHR 1955’s (thank you @ROman), and incoming IH-666-UHR’s will see a lot of wear.

Mostly Ooes and Roy since Penn. dew points think nothing of staying above 70 . Till, oh, October ::)

Currently rotating:
IH-888s-SLB (Slubby 888s) - 26 wear days, 1 wash
IH-888s-21 (21oz 888s) - 108 wear days, 1 wash
IH-888d (duck 888s) (casual office attire)
IH-731-KHA (12oz relaxed fit chinos) for 'smart casual', etc
UES Duck Shorts (when its too hot for trousers altogether)I put the 21s on again when the slubbs needed a wash (it's been hot lately and they were a bit sweaty) and it was like putting on pyjamas they have adapted to me so well. I was like "aaaah, hello old friend".
