Thinking of stepping up my camera game. I used to do a lot of shooting, but bringing my real camera with me these days is more of a chore. I have a Nikon D750 with a 50mm 1.4, and also a 24-70mm. I've been using my iPhone a lot to take pics, but miss having a dedicated camera.
Size and portability are a big selling point for me, should I step to a Fujifilm X100V? There seem to be quite a few on the used market since people are picking up the X100VI's.

Unfortunately right now the price of the X100’s are still pretty inflated. I’d recommend looking into something like an XT30ii. Great camera, compact size, exchangeable lenses. I have one paired with the Fuji 27mm pancake lens and it’s wonderful. Still have all the use of recipes and whatnot too.

@chrisjohnnick if you’re looking to get into the Fuji series, especially the X100 lineup, look at older versions. I still carry my X100s (still have the OG X100) on almost every phot outing/trip I do. The S and T versions are very solid cameras. If you’re looking for a range finder with non-fixed lenses the XPro 2 is an absolute beast. I used to shoot weddings with both those cameras and they killed it.

I use an X100F and I absolutely love it!! Very easy to grab and go and not think about gear.
Here is one of my all time favorite shots on my X100FChicagohenge Fall 2018

I'm starting a digital photography class in January. I took a photography class decades ago, and learned how to remove film from the camera and get it into the darkroom, I learned how to develop photos, and I learned all about photo composition. This will be a whole new world, and I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be nice to brush up on terminology and learn some new stuff. I'll be borrowing my wife's Canon Rebel, which I'm guessing it a pretty old entry-level DSLR. I'm sure it'll be fine.

I loved the fuji x series when I had it. Went through an x100s, xt1, and xpro1 with a number of lenses. Out of all of them I think I preferred the xt1 just due to how snappy it was and the viewfinder was actually worth a damn. I couldn't let go of not verifying focus with the optical rangefinder on the other two cameras. Maybe it's gotten better now, I don't know. Ultimately I just got frustrated with the whole system and it feeling more like I was doing photography with a computer and got the camera I really wanted and bought a leica. You might want to consider that too if the budget allows. A used 240 is an incredible camera still...I still shoot with one.
I do still miss that Fuji 1.4 / 35mm lens though....
While it was a little slow to focus it renders beautifully. -
@Danimal506 Great shot.
-
@ROman Thank you! It’s one of the few that I have printed and hanging on my wall.
-
@Marc2706 direct flash, with black and white film. Slamming combo.

I do a lot of local rock and metal bands portraits in my studio. This is a hardcore band named DECEPTIONS that was recently in for some shots. I use a combination of LED lights in studio and prefer it far more than flash.

@pechelman Beautiful pictures from Japan and it makes me want to go back. I have a box of slides at home that I took while I lived there - should dig them out and go down memory lane. Thanks for sharing.

@Denman-John yes, please!
