Pipeline Triple Works…...

Normally, I'm in the anti-asymetric pockets camp, but I actually like the oxfords. Lovely selvage details in the cuffs, placket and side reinforcement panels; slick looking buttons and overall excellent construction (naturally). I think the double pocket on the oversized one makes it less like the other retro/workwear/Americana trend clothing and more like a functional feature.
Regardless, I'm interested in the "braver and more varied" direction that Triple Works will be taking. There are bound to be a few misses along the way, but that's what happens when you take risks. I'm all for that. As I touched on in a different post, I like when Japanese brands move away from trying to put out the most faithful repros possible and start trying to forge their own identity, with their own innovations. It's better for the industry and it's better for the customers.

It's cool, jaco- I understood your intent, and I think it prompted an interesting discussion. My intent was similar; mentioning my general feelings and not trying to denigrate the choices or personal style of anyone else.

That extra pocket is kinda iffy for me. What's the purpose for the second pocket anyways, a box of cigs perhaps? Or was it mentioned and I totally missed it in the thread…
I'll wait and watch how it goes. The pattern and everything is else looks great though. And what MadMonday said, where's the short sleeves.. ::)

I personally hate asymmetrical front pockets, but these don't bother me as much. I think it's because they're the same width and shape.
This is an example of something I hate despite being a great looking shirt: http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=812

Somebody asked us to do an unlined version of the IHSH-49 for summer. We thought it an excellent idea, so we did…...
Haraki likes this shirt so much, he asked me if I minded him selling it in Japan…The answer is always of course you can (he asked me if he could sell the 25oz jeans too), but it is nice to be asked.....

The green Check shirt is really great - was my favorite fabric from the beginning. i just hope you bring enough over, I am surprised everytime how fast the flannels sell out and wether you wouldn't be able to sell much more of them. Just my outsider's impression.

Some sell really fast, some slowly. And I can never get the numbers right, I either order too many or not enough. The great thing is that the stuff will always sell, as we get new customers, they go through the back catalogue and pick up older stuff, but I can't tie up too much in stock because either a) I'll run out of money or b) We'll run out of space…....

Yeah, that's why I wondered. I think if you had some real old flannels lying around (not just the XS) they would still sell. The crew gets their shirt on the first day, but that shouldn't mean that the interest is at zero after that. That's why the secondhand threads are booming and you can still get good prices there.
