Wabbidashery… aka, The Heritage Heaven Tour

Haven’t seen Billy Strings since COVID, but I imagine he still puts on a killer show. Enjoy the night in style!

Is it possible to overdue wabash? Asking for a friend.

Nope...

@mclaincausey I see plenty of leg space available!

Dirt bagged it last night when a chill hit the air and we were catching up with old friends on the deck. On Sunday we will be heading to Steamboat Springs where the weather will be perfect for some wabbidashery.

This is tonight’s fit for Red Rocks to see Joe Russo’s Almost Dead with Branford Marsalis.
-
Took Wabby to Red Rocks for Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, a Grateful Dead tribute band that I really love, with Branford Marsalis sitting in first set on tenor and alto saxophone. Really great show, and I ultimately wound up backstage afterwards and had a great time long into the night with the band and others. My wife missed it because Hattie started getting sick right before the sitter arrived

Then, I had a lot of big plans for Steamboat. Packed all sorts of ensembles to show off the jacket in the mountains. But Hattie gave us her stomach bug so all I have is these few. I’ll get some more pics here in down the hill, and if it isn’t too lengthy a tour stop, at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in a few weeks, where the mountain chill would complement this layer perfectly!

Cheers mates! One more adventure coming after Montana is planned: Telluride, Colorado, for the legendary Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s 51st instance.
We’re not done here yet. No Wabby pictured in these, but I was wearing it while we fed the neighbor Tennessee walker horses some carrots.
Then we wheeled some more, and tonight will be heading to dinner, with me wabby-clad. I’ll look for photo ops.
Our friends’ ranch where we are staying has two huge cabins and the family are… enthusiastic hunters. It is hard to convey the sheer size of this Giant Eland mounted over the door of the cabin we’re staying in. I don’t think I can do it justice in a shot but I’d say the gentleman was easily over 2,000lbs. There’s a gigantic elk above him that must have easily been over 1,300lbs if not closer to 1,500lbs and he absolutely dwarfs him.
The main specimen in the room is a ram killed at 16,000 feet in Tajikistan. I’ve placed Wabby for scale. Wouldn’t want to take a headbutt from this guy.

Some nature on the way to dinner.
Pronghorn antelope
Elk
Bald eagle (Muricaaaa)
Humans

Stacks of snaps on the heritage pack list for Telluride Bluegrass festival this coming week, my final adventure with Wabby before I send her along. I’m going to miss her. I would buy one if they re run these, and perhaps in this XL sizing where I’m usually large.
-
And we are here in Telluride. Festival starts today!!
-
@mclaincausey you’ve got the fire in your eye, bro!! Limos are booked for Red Rocks!! Colorado music at its best this weekend!!

And the final stop on the Causey leg of the tour
