IHJ-138-BLK - PrimaLoft Gold x eVent Mountain Parka - Black
Our mountain parka is the flagship model in the Iron Heart high-performance jacket range, constructed using some of the most technologically advanced fabrics currently available. Engineered to withstand the harshest conditions that mother nature can throw at you, the outer shell is made from a patented eVent fabric, with high-performance insulation provided by a Primaloft Gold lining. This creates a fully water and windproof jacket, which is incredibly warm yet remains very breathable. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, summiting the highest peaks or facing a big city freeze - this is a serious winter jacket.
For this FW24 update, we’ve revised the pocket design to increase versatility. Along with the zipped chest pockets, the main waist pockets now offer innovative dual-entry options - creating two pockets in one. The snap-fastened side entry pockets from previous versions remain, but hidden behind these are now two extra top entry pockets, sealed with water-stop zips.

I'll go first: I love and very much appreciate the idea of the new and innovative side pocket design that was first done on the IHJ-127-BLK / IHJ-44-BLK and now this. Hope all of the functional jackets get this update from now on as a default.
PS: And I am also glad to see that the vertical outer pockets weren't left out like they were with the IHJ-79-BLK vs. IHJ-127-BLK.

Hey @AdamC - Whenever you tried the sample on (I believe size L) - Would you personally be able to fit anything underneath it? We’re about the same size for shirts and I was wondering if you’d be able to layer with it. Where I live can get to -12C in the winter. So having a jacket, but also wearing a hoodie indoors is nice. So grabbing that jacket to put on over the hoodie would be ideal. Thanks man!

@Fadez here you go mate. Was a touch restrictive to be honest, when bending the arms. If the sizing of the production comes out the same, which I would expect being a tried and tested pattern. If you were going to wear it more layered then go with XL. If you were going to wear it with a T mainly but occasionally with something else, then L would work

@AdamC can you explain whats the big difference between this and the 75? Just got the "old" one in the IH Germany sale and am totally stunned by the perfection and quality.

@Alex thanks Alex !!

Any ETA? Thinking about getting one if the measurements turn out good.

Ok, so the size small arrived and I'd like some input on the fit. Keep in mind that I'm quite short and anything slightly oversized or long tends to make me even shorter in my opinion. So: The chest isn't restrictive at all with just a T-Shirt beneath the jacket, or even when simultaneously wearing a T-Shirt, wool pullover AND an IH hoodie beneath the jacket. The chesti s also not too loose. The opening is a little larger than what I'd want, and the sleeves a little longer. The rest is "as it should be". I'm thinking, however, that the XS would've looked less oversized on me (2cm shorter in overall length, 2cm smaller opening and 1cm shorter sleeve length compared to this, but also 3cm smaller chest width compared to this) and maybe, without being noticeably more restrictive than the S that I currently have here, been more fitted in all the right places? It's definitely a fit I could live with, but I'm trying to get it as perfect as possible as it is going to be an (expensive) jacket that I intend to wear for many many years.
Below are the comparison photos:
(Left is always only with a T-Shirt beneath the jacket, right is with the same T-Shirt AND an IH hoodie)Here it is unzipped from the front:

@cityofdelusion looks exactly how I would want it. Maybe the smaller one would have even better sleeves but sacrificing everything else would not benefit the mobility. And after all this is a jacket that You can take hiking or skiing.

@cityofdelusion looks spot on

For me, the fit of any winter jacket has to accommodate layering and that usually means the chest, shoulders and body have to feel comfortable with what I want to wear under it. Unfortunately, sometimes other sacrifices sometimes have to be made.
Yours looks like the right fit to me. How does it feel?
