IHSH-397-IND - 21oz Sashiko Work Shirt - Indigo
-
Damn I made a tactical error holding off on buying this. Tried it on Saturday at self edge and already sold outta my size online, put them up faster that I thought. Get paid tomorrow, Oh well guess it wasn’t meant to be and now I can drop the money on season opener golden state Warriors tickets for next month.
-
@jaliskoe the struggle is real.
-
some of the soft comments are throwing me; it sounded like the earlier input was it's hard faced and rigid and more similar to a canvass or duck?
I'm still sitting this one out as it visually looks more like indigo duck to me and not really like a sashiko fabric as did the 380/389. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.
-
@jaliskoe ha. I have the rgt sashiko jacket but their shrinkage is wonky. An IH distributor just opened up on the central coast here so thinking of stopping by to possibly purchase before an Anderson paak concert in Santa Barbara tomorrow
-
@pechelman Love my 380, but to me it's more a textured dobby than a real sashiko. I think this 21oz is closer to a proper (machine-made) sashiko of the kind that Pure Blue Japan etc specialise in. I passed on this one, but predicable second thoughts kicking in now
-
I'm "casually watching" a few remaining 397's.. I have a deal with my wife that I don't use credit cards for extras. Love IH but it's definitely "extra". On Friday my stipend will refresh for the month... Part of the fun is the risk I guess lol

@Matt Wow - what a fit!! You’ve made me nervous now that I should have sized up… I suppose I will find out either way today! Looks awesome on you
-
Here are the fit pics - my first time handling Sashiko, beautiful fabric. Doesn’t feel as heavy as I thought it would either (in a good way).
This is the first ever IH work shirt I have tried on - thoughts on the fit?
-
@long_john86 I doubt the fit will get better than that. It looks like it's a bit on the larger side, but - as you pointed out with your pictures already - the sleeves are on the shorter side for you. Sizing down is no option here. Sizing up also isn't - would probably look too baggy.
-
@tody cheers my friend. You echo my thoughts. I think ideally I need a Frankenstein size. Size down on the body, size up in the arms
-
@long_john86 I think it really suits you, great choice my friend

This post is deleted!

@long_john86 man yep I agree that this is dialed! Looks great.
-
@long_john86 Looks great! Work shirt isn't as tailored as their westerns. Enjoy the comfort and the look.
-
Thank you for all your feedback/comments.
Decision made - I’m going to be returning this back to the crew unfortunately.
The sleeve length isn’t quite where I need it to be, and the reality is that once the creases set in I will only be losing more of that much needed sleeve length.
Whilst not quite visible from the front the body is also a bit too ‘spacious’ for my liking. Maybe if it was a UHF I’d feel different but was hoping for a slightly more fitted body on this baby.
Sometimes you just need to learn when to let go in this game…. Plenty more fish in the sea (I’m thinking the @Mizmazzle ) -
@meatmarketdenim1 FYI, don't know if the timing works out for you or not but James Dant is releasing their stock today at 11 AM ET. They say they only have 10 units total.
-
@long_john86 man I think you’ve got a winner there! Sleeves don’t look too short to me at all. They will come up a bit perhaps, but the fabric should also relax a good amount as well I’d imagine.

Mine arrives today, the suspense is killing me!
