Whipcord N1 dilemma
-
@Nik thanks for responding. I honestly wouldn’t mind if the fabric faded at all. I obviously still want to wear and enjoy it and I definitely would hate to render it useless. It’s a tough call.

@Brandrea thanks for replying. I agree the sleeves are a bit too excessive. I doubt that I’d layer much as I run a bit hot and we have relatively mild weather here in the Pacific Northwest.
-
@Nik also, did you machine dry it? Thanks
-
No I delicate washed and put it on a hanger to dry outside.

@Nik got ya; thanks again.

Just wanted to chip in on this. The only issue I see in the fit pictures is the sleeve length. Maby a couple of pictures of the jacket closed might also help in giving out the fit.
Now sizing down will help some with the sleeve, but going from and XXXL to an XXL will only get you like 1" of the sleeve so they will probably still look a little long.
The N1 is ment to be worn a bit boxy on the shoulders and the waist so for me the only real benchmark for a fitting N1 would be the P2P measurement. if you feel you have plenty of room left there, you might want sell and to size down. Otherwise I wouldn't recomend it.
Personaly, I would put my money in a good sewing shop and have the sleeves altered or just wear it as is and let the whipcord crease and conform to your body.
I would never hot soak this in a million years.FYI: Paul Newman wearing it nice and a boxy

@scarfmace Really appreciate your input/insight regarding my dilemma. It’s easy to second guess the fit. The pit to pit is actually pretty spot on. I truly feel that the sleeve length is throwing me. I hadn’t given much thought to having it altered so that could also be an option. Or as you said just roll with it as is. Decisions decisions….

zipped/closed.

I think its the right size. If you can find somebody to shorten the sleeves you will be very happy with it.

Looks great. Very helpful thread for me. Definitely the size I need.
