Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
-
Not sure if this should go here but it would be nice if there was a tag on the clothes with the IH model number or it could be just printed on the washing instructions tag. I know some of the clothes do but it would make it easier for a quick internet search to find out measurements of the item. For instance I love the fit of my IHSH-211 but it took some digging to find that number and do a search. Not a big deal but it would be handy. I’m assuming some items are called something else in Japan or are limited or something and that’s why some stuff has the model and some stuff doesn’t.

@hoppy_IPA Not in recent years but I've got an old triple works one from way back. It's most definitely not that colour anymore

A true “Western” shirt like with some ornate embroidery on the yoke or on the pocket flaps.
. I think the Sawtooth shirts were leaning more towards a True Western style and I don’t think that they sold especially well. If you’d like to get a shirt like that I highly recommend checking out www.vintagewesternwear.com. I’m a really big fan of smile and slant pockets on western shirts,but don’t really see them fitting in with Iron Heart. @Matt

been wondering the same thing honestly about adding it to a tag somewhere. Clearly this complicates by having unique tags, but an existing tag could be marked with permanent ink right before or after sewing perhaps? The model number would also help to know what weight fabric, washing, shrinkage, find the forum threads for pictures, or sizing details on items with questionable measurements or sellers who refuse to measure. (has happened here before to me)
Different question/item, there's been a little discussion about adding bell logos to things like easy shorts, what about adding a Works embroidered W instead? Would this be preferred on IHSH's too instead of the added tag on the chest pocket?

I think the model number tag thing has come up before and is more onerous than one might expect relative to generic tags that can be used on any model. Just think of the added cost and complexity of sourcing and applying model-specific tags on top of already handling size-specific tags. Having garment-specific dies for the internal printing is similarly expensive.
Perhaps the easiest way to do it would be ink-stamping a white space area on the internal tags. Then again, each of us is free to do that or Sharpie it on there too.
Haraki has made shirts with the embroidered W on the pocket before and I wish he would do so again.

mclaincausey great idea to mark in Sharpie on the tags ourselves. It’s such a simple idea and it never crossed my mind. Sometimes the best ideas are the most simple. This may sound like I’m being sarcastic but I’m not. Great idea!

Have Iron Heart boots ever been discussed?

@Weft:
I have an old IH western with sawtooth pockets that I wore to my wedding. It has one of the little red "W"s on it and I absolutely love it.
@Oaktavia Sweet - white/off-white?
It's the IHSH-198 cotton/linen

@mclaincausey that shirt is rad and I agree the red W embroidery on shirts again would be amazing. I would love all of my shirts to have them. Something about thar little W that really gets me…
